As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing and safeguarding the financial records, transactions, and reporting for our corporation. Your responsibilities will span various financial functions, including bank reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, wire transfers, tax recording, account reconciliations, and report analysis. Collaborating with different departments to support decision-making processes is also a key aspect of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
Bank Reconciliations:
Perform bank reconciliations for corporate entities and provide assistance with property-level bank reconciliations when necessary.
Fixed Asset Management:
Oversee all fixed asset accounting functions, including quarterly booking of additions and depreciation expenses, writing off sold assets, and reviewing expense accounts for capitalized items.
Financial Transactions:
Accurately record corporate wire transfers, credit card transactions, internal cash transfers, and intercompany activities.
Handle consolidating and other sales taxes, including accruals and eliminations.
Account Reconciliations:
Conduct account reconciliations for corporate-level accounts.
Monitor business licenses and sales taxes, and file as necessary.
Financial Analysis:
Perform in-depth analysis of general ledger data to resolve unreconciled amounts.
Contribute to special projects as required.
Audit Support:
Collaborate with the Controller and Accounting Manager during the annual audit.
Assist in compiling quarterly reports in accordance with GAAP.
Data Management:
Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets as needed to support journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Experience with MRI or Yardi software is preferred.
Experience working with US Clients
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Self-directed, highly motivated, and skilled in logical problem-solving.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Demonstrated ability to follow through with assignments.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling collaboration with managers and colleagues.
