Job Description

As an Art Director, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overall artistic vision of Techland games (in the Dying Light Universe) and ensuring excellence in all aspects of in-game visual assets. 

Your daily tasks:

  • Creation of artistic visions for Techland games based on the Creatives Director's direction.
  • Communication of the vision to adequate teams.
  • Maintaining the vision throughout the whole development process.
  • Creation of the visual and stylistic direction for game content.
  • Monitoring all visual assets in terms of quality and visual consistency,
  • Guidance and support for artists and team leads.
  • Focus on game-oriented asset creation pipelines through close collaboration with Technical Art Director.
  • Managing the effective creation of visual assets, according to the applicable  methodology.
  • Caring for the development of a team of artists, and active participation in recruiting new employees to the art department.

Qualifications
  • Experience in creating games - at least 10 years of experience in the video game art field and min. 5 years of experience as a Lead Artist or Art Director.
  • Proven track record of AAA titles (at least 2) - preferably post-apocalyptic.
  • A deep passion for video games (open worlds).
  • Experience in the art team management and creating new teams from scratch (candidate approach, recruitment process etc.)
  • Excellent artistic skills and knowledge (composition, light, colour, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of character, object, world, animation, and other asset creation, ability to direct assets creation to optimize them to support gameplay, style, and narrative principles.
  • Good knowledge of the most recent toolset (Zbrush, Painter, photoshop, etc.) commonly used by the Art teams. 
  • A good technical awareness to push the quality also from a technical side when necessary, to achieve the utmost quality.
  • Some strong knowledge of level and game design rules and needs.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and positive manner with colleagues and third parties.
  • Very good command of English.
