The Director, Editorial and Design will play a critical role in leading the artistic vision and visual identity of the brand. Some key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing creative strategies to enhance the brand's visual identity and presence in the market. Leading and managing a team of designers, copywriters, and stylists to ensure the consistency and quality of design initiatives and editorial shoots. Collaborating with marketing, merchandising, and UX to align creative direction with overall business objectives. Staying informed about industry trends and competitors to ensure the brand remains relevant and innovative. Participating in brainstorming sessions, concept development, and campaign planning for yearly marketing calendar. Providing guidance and feedback to team members across styling, design, and copywriting to foster creativity and maintain high standards of work. Managing budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget constraints while also delivering efficiently on business objectives. Managing agencies and freelancers to scale asset production and drive innovation. Bringing in great industry connections in order to assemble top-notch freelance teams for quarterly editorial shoots
The Director in this role will need a strong creative aesthetic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate a creative team towards achieving the brand's goals and objectives. The position requires both a willingness to execute on specific design tasks and the ability to think big picture and sketch out a vision for the future. In addition, it requires a broad set of industry connections and relationships to bring in talent on a case-by-case basis.
Requirements:
--10 years in a senior design role
--experience managing creative agencies
--background in fashion, lifestyle, and retail, preferable at a multi-brand retailer with a strong e-commerce presence
--experience managing a high-performing creative team with various specialties, including copywriting, styling, and design
--hands-on experience designing all types of consumer-facing assets, including email, homepages, social posts, and other collateral including print and advertising
--a willingness to experiment with new tools and technologies
--a risk-taking sense of fun
This role is open to candidates physically located in the following metropolitan statistical areas: Austin, TX; Las Vegas, NV; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA.
Candidates who are not physically located in one of these areas may not be considered for this role.The base pay range for this position is $180,000 - 209,500 per year ; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, a full range of medical and other benefits is offered.
