Job description

As the Director of TechOps Excellence, you will play a pivotal role in driving large-scale change and transformation across our Technology organization, which includes Product, Engineering, Security, Risk, Analytics and other key functions. Your mission will be to influence senior technical leadership in order to foster connectedness and enhance efficiency through strategic initiatives and operational improvements. You will lead efforts to implement robust change management processes, drive continuous improvement, develop scalable and agile frameworks, and ensure effective communication and strategic alignment throughout the organization.

What you'll do

  • Large-Scale Organizational Change Management
    • Define and lead organizational transformation projects, ensuring that they meet expectations and create the desired outcomes.
    • Design and implement change management strategies that support the Tech organization's strategic direction.
    • Facilitate the adoption of new processes and technologies across the organization, managing the human factors involved to minimize resistance and maximize engagement.
    • Drive large scale business and technology plans by identifying customer, merchant, regulatory and operational needs, analyzing business objectives, and ensuring alignment around strategy, focus areas, and key decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement 
    • Act as a consultant and coach to department leaders and the extended technology leadership team, identifying areas for process enhancements and efficiency gains.
    • Implement continuous improvement programs that contribute to the ongoing development of technical operations and cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Agile Methodology Development and Implementation 
    • Develop and refine organizational processes that are both scalable and agile, enabling the organization to respond quickly to changing market demands while maintaining operational stability.
    • Up-level the Tech org by standardizing best practices and frameworks that support organizational growth and performance.
    • Partner with product and engineering with an agile mindset, utilizing an iterative approach to continuously improve and adapt products based on feedback and evolving organizational needs.
  • Communication / Information Architecture
    • Initiate the development and implementation of an effective information architecture to ensure that critical information is accessible and communication flows seamlessly across the organization.
    • Enhance internal communication strategies to improve transparency and alignment on organization and portfolio goals, progress, trade-offs, and strategic decisions.
  • Strategic Vision 
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing strategic insights and recommendations that influence long-term business and operational strategy.
    • Build strong relationships across the organization to ensure that operational transformation initiatives are closely aligned with business needs and strategic goals.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 10 years' experience in engineering or product management of technically complex products .
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development processes, methodologies and experience contributing to designing technical architecture.
  • Proven experience in operational transformation, change management, or a similar role within a technology-focused environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consulting skills.
  • Deep understanding of process improvement methodologies and designing scalable solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.

Pay Grade - S

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills. 

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents). In addition, the employees may be eligible for equity rewards offered by Affirm Holdings, Inc. (parent company).

CAN base pay range per year: $179,000 - $259,000

Location - Remote Canada
