The Role

The Head of Sales is a high executive role in corporations, focusing primarily on the management and leadership of all sales-related activities and driving the sales performance of the organization. This role is crucial in defining and driving the sales strategy, overseeing the sales team, and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded. The Head of Sales plays a vital role in the company's growth, profitability, and increasing market share and customer base by aligning the sales strategy with business objectives and market demands.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Development: The Head of Sales is responsible for creating and implementing an effective sales strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. This involves understanding market trends, identifying growth opportunities, setting sales targets, and deciding on the sales processes and methodologies to be used.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Leading the sales team is a critical function of the Head of Sales. This includes hiring, training, and mentoring sales personnel, as well as setting sales goals, motivating the team to achieve them, and monitoring performance. The Head of Sales is responsible for creating a dynamic and supportive environment that encourages team success.
  • Sales Operations Management: Oversees the sales operations, including sales forecasting, planning, budgeting, and setting performance metrics. The Head of Sales ensures that sales processes are efficient and aligned with the company's objectives.
  • Market Analysis and Business Intelligence: Understanding market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies is essential for a Head of Sales. Close interaction and effective management of Business Intelligence and Pitch teams will help equip sales personnel with more effective tools and prepare for sales.

  • Integrating Technology and Innovation: Driving innovation in sales strategies and practices to adapt to changing market conditions and technological advancements. Keeping up with the latest sales technologies, CRM software etc., and integrating them into the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Revenue and Sales Growth: Ultimately, the Head of Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth and increasing profitability for the company. This involves identifying new business opportunities, expanding into new markets, and increasing sales efficiency. Continuously finding new ways to drive sales growth in a competitive environment.

Skills and Qualifications
