Solar Project Development Manager (Construction Experience Preferred) - Remote

Start Date: ASAP

Location: UK/Remote

Salary: £70k - £90k

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Planning and Approvals:
    • Drive planning submissions and secure critical grid approvals with precision and efficiency.
    • Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met during the planning process.
  • Technical Due Diligence:
    • Conduct thorough technical evaluations for potential project acquisitions.
    • Analyze feasibility studies, technical reports, and financial models to support investment decisions.
  • On-Site Assessments:
    • Perform comprehensive site visits to evaluate electrical infrastructure and roof conditions.
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Strategic Development:
    • Craft and implement robust, innovative project strategies that align with company goals and market trends.
    • Lead project kick-off meetings and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive project milestones.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Negotiate land leases with property owners and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Foster strong partnerships with local authorities, contractors, and community groups to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Sales and Design Support:
    • Provide technical sales assistance by offering expert insights and validating intricate project designs.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to develop compelling proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Collaborative Efforts:
    • Work closely with the Operations Manager and Business Development Director to align project goals with business objectives.
    • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across departments to drive project efficiency.
Qualifications

  • Proven Experience:
    • Demonstrated success in managing project stakeholders and customer relationships.
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • EPC Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) processes.
    • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies and project management best practices.
  • Relevant Roles:
    • Experience as a Site Manager, Plant Improvement Manager, or Process Engineer is preferred.
  • UK Project Development:
    • Successful track record of project development within the UK energy sector.
    • Familiarity with UK planning and regulatory frameworks.
  • Technical Consultancy:
    • Over 2 years in technical consultancy supporting Commercial & Industrial (C&I) energy projects, including solar, energy efficiency, and EV charging.
  • Language and Eligibility:
    • Fluent in English and eligible to work in the UK.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Travel Willingness:
    • Ready to travel for essential site visits and meetings as required.
