Through environmental engineering, geoscience, and ecology we delve into and solve problems over wide ranging scales and with a broad geographic coverage.

Responsibilities:

  • Desktop background research and data collection and collation, including provincial species search requests.

  • Preparation of federal, provincial and territorial fisheries related environmental applications.

  • Preparation and review of reports.

  • Preparation and review of budgets and proposals.

  • Development of field programs (e.g., investigations and monitoring)

  • Work closely with junior biologists to conduct aquatic field investigations.

  • Maintaining and organizing accurate and detailed field logbooks as well as photo documentation records.

  • Inputting, maintaining and summarizing data and information in databases and reports.

  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Ecology, or related field.

  • Minimum 4 years of diversified experience in Aquatic Biology (consulting experience strongly preferred).

  • Proven project management track record of managing project teams, quality, budget, and schedule.

  • Strong knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental regulatory and approvals regimes.

  • Consulting experience working with various levels of government and the private sector.

  • Applied experience in aquatic biology, including fish and fish habitat identification skills as well as other aquatic species identification skills.

  • Previous experience conducting aquatic baseline studies and/or environmental monitoring of construction projects required.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)

  • Must have strong technical report writing skills and the ability to compile field data into summary reports.

  • Must be comfortable working in and around water and working in all weather conditions.

  • Proficient with Windows Office (Word, Excel).

  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

  • Any experience with environmental inspection during construction is an asset.

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
