About Our Client

Our client is a large publicly listed company who have been servicing customers in Malaysia for over 30 years. They specialise in the heavy industries which include construction and property development.

Job Description

  • Develop and execute the organisations sustainability and ESG strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Lead the integration of ESG considerations into business operations, risk management, and decision-making processes. Drive the adoption of best practices in sustainability across the organization.
  • Provide thought leadership on sustainability issues and trends, advising senior management and the Board on relevant topics.
  • Formulate and implement sustainability policies, standards, and frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international ESG regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, regulators, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
  • Represent the organisation at industry forums, conferences, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Foster partnerships and collaborations to advance the organisations sustainability agenda.
  • Oversee the preparation and publication of the organisations annual sustainability report.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent ESG reporting in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Monitor and report on key ESG performance indicators and sustainability targets.
  • Identify and assess ESG-related risks and opportunities. Develop mitigation strategies for sustainability-related risks.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to integrate ESG risks into the overall risk management framework. Lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and programs.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sustainability team. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members. Foster a culture of sustainability across the organization.


The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a track record leading the Sustainability/ESG department, ideally of a medium - large organisation. Previous experience building a Sustainability/ESG department from the ground-up will be highly regarded. The role requires somebody with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who has previous experience engaging with and influencing senior executives within a business.
