Job description

As a Paralegal, you will support attorneys in law firms by gathering, organizing and preparing various documents and files for court cases and Immigration Agencies. You may also regularly meet with attorneys, clients, or other legal professionals to gather helpful details about upcoming cases. You will prepare and draft legal documents, like briefs, affidavits, appeals, motions, and pleadings.

You will perform legal research to fact-check information for different cases by searching through public records and other resources provided by clients. Paralegals are also in charge of coordinating deliveries of important legal documents and forms.

NOTE: Candidates must be proficient in both English and Spanish, spoken and written. Only resumes in English will be considered. This position is open to applicants from all Latin American countries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in drafting, preparing, and reviewing legal documents.
  • Conducting legal research.
  • Managing communication with clients and addressing their inquiries.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Ensuring the timely submission of legal paperwork.
  • Supporting attorneys with administrative tasks.
  • Providing updates on case progress.

Requirements

  • Good communication skills and well-versed in documentation and reporting
  • Excellent understanding of legal procedures and terminology 
  • Bachelor's degree in law or another related field
  • A minimum experience of one year in a paralegal role in the US law firm
  • Investigative mind and strong research skills
  • Experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration procedures and forms
  • Knowledge of legal database software
  • Experience in preparing legal reports
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills
  • End-to-end case management experience
