Job Description

Role Summary/Purpose

This position is focused on supporting the governance and risk management function for the GE Vernova enterprise as it relates to Exception Management.  This includes assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of governance and risk management exceptions to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure exception management process is followed
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on exception management compliance
  • Review and analyze compliance reports and data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards and their impact on new and existing exceptions
  • Prepare reports for management on exception compliance for risk register, policy and controls

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a STEM related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in Information Technology governance and compliance
  • 3+ years’ experience in Cyber Security

Desired Characteristics

  • Vernova segments/business experience is highly desired
  • Experience with regulatory bodies such as SOX and CMMC
  • Experience writing and maintaining SOPs and training documentation
  • Comfortable leading decision making discussions that lead to consensus agreement
  • IT cybersecurity and/or risk management certifications
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with limited direction
  • Change oriented – actively defines process improvements, champions and drive change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly
