Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

The ESG Advisory & Mandatory Reporting Business Line empowers clients' transition to models of sustainable performance by integrating ESG priorities into business strategy and investment decisions, and rigorously reporting against progress. Specifically, we help companies define and implement an ESG program , manage and govern ESG data , and report & disclose ESG performance.

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulations are rapidly emerging, evolving, and intensifying, presenting both business challenges and opportunities. As companies navigate this complex landscape, they require strategic guidance from experienced professionals who can translate legal complexities into actionable strategies that drive sustainable growth and compliance. Anthesis seeks a dynamic and experienced leader to spearhead our ESG Regulatory Compliance Advisory service offerings, overseeing the refinement, expansion, and day-to-day operations.

The purpose of this role is to lead the service and team guiding multinational companies through the complex landscape of existing and emerging sustainability regulations. The successful candidate will drive profitable growth and ensure operational excellence in our ESG Regulatory Advisory service. In this role, you will collaborate with strategists, sustainability subject matter experts, to serve our clients and shape the future of corporate sustainability on behalf of Anthesis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development and Operational Management - Lead the expansion and refinement of the ESG Regulatory Advisory service line. Oversee our service offerings' strategic development and continuous improvement to meet market demands.
  • Scale our Impact - Drive profitable growth for the ESG Regulatory Advisory service line, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and Implement a Proprietary Risk and Strategy-Based Compliance Framework - Enable clients to quantify and prioritize ESG legal risks based on strategic, financial, reputational, and operational impacts. Oversee the development of playbooks and compliance programs and address unique enterprise-level regulatory challenges.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Management - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation among ESG legal and compliance professionals. Attract, retain, and nurture top talent: Provide career development opportunities and clear pathways for progression within the practice.
  • Strategic Integration and Client Engagement - Integrate ESG compliance with broader client sustainability priorities. Support achieving sustainability goals and drive outcomes contributing to reportable ESG performance metrics.
  • Oversee Operational Excellence - ensure your team explores and implements data collection plans, regulatory intelligence systems, and integrated reporting solutions to ensure high-quality service delivery
