Job description

Position Description

EnCompass LLC is seeking Consultants with expertise in E-learning Design and Development. We are looking for individuals who are experienced in leading e-learning projects and producing creative designs for topics in the international development arena. This role will require the following skills: highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, creative, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

The consultant will work under the direct oversight of a Digital Learning Hub team member and in close collaboration with other EnCompass and client teams or individuals, such as subject matter experts, e-learning and multimedia developers, voice talent, and graphic designers.

The consultant will be responsible for ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and in accordance with our quality standards. Specific level of effort (LOE), deliverables, and periods of performance for specific assignments will be communicated by the project point of contact as assignments become available.

For the foreseeable future, EnCompass is using a hybrid work model where most positions are remote with voluntary in-person attendance at the office. The exceptions to this model include scenarios such as if the client requires the role to be in-person. For US-based positions: Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship. This role is also open to non US-based applicants.

Essential Functions

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Speak knowledgeably with clients about e-learning and other digital learning solutions and make recommendations based on adult learning principles and best practices
  • Conduct needs analysis with clients to understand the needs of the organization and identify solutions resulting in effective and targeted e-learning course designs
  • Assess existing and complex learning material from subject matter experts and effectively chunk the information into smaller, organized pieces for learners to understand in asynchronous learning
  • Design e-learning activities that promote learning through decision-making, immediate feedback, and reflection
  • Write storyboards and scripts with the ability to understand the nuances of writing for diverse learners
  • Guide projects through the design phase (design document, macro, and micro) and the development phase (mockup, alpha, beta, gold)
  • Work closely with subject matter experts throughout the project phases to ensure content accuracy and alignment with learning objectives

Qualifications

Position Requirements

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in education, curriculum design, organizational development, instructional design, e-learning, or related fields

Experience And Skills

  • Expertise in and passion for digital learning solutions, particularly with the design of e-learning (storyboarding)
  • Proficient skills in e-learning authoring tools and multimedia development software, such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and Vyond
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience or interest in the field of international development and working in cross-cultural environments
  • Knowledge of principles and best practices of adult learning
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to build effective working relations with clients and team members; strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
