Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to join our team at Workcog. As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications. This is a remote position with the option for contract or contract-to-hire employment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• More than 3 years of experience in Android application development
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
• Understanding of Google's Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Work with external data sources and APIs
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in mobile technologies
