The Controllers Office is seeking a Treasury Analyst. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE, 12-month, professional faculty position.
In support of the university’s mission, the Treasury Office at Oregon State University ( OSU ) is responsible for promoting proper stewardship of university resources through operations of the Internal Bank, liquidity and cash management, debt management including capital market financing, banking relationships, and oversight of investment management.The purpose of the Treasury Analyst role is to perform the following relative to the treasury office at OSU. - Create liquidity management proposals and plans including coordinating data from multiple sources for reliable and timely analysis. - Provide support by analyzing, identifying, and implementing streamlined business processes or technical solutions. - Ensure the integrity of timely and accurate data recording all cash activity managed by the treasury office in the university’s accounting system. - Prepare and/or analyze reports that monitor and forecast activities related to the treasury office. - Advise and provide business analytic services to contribute to resolving any accounting and finance-related questions or concerns related to financial transactions. - Work through projects independently as well as collaboratively with department, university-wide, and external partners. - Communicate effectively in a team environment interacting with all levels of the university, external resources, and external auditors. - Coordinate and lead the Data Security Standards compliance oversight committee, agenda creation and distribution, and compliance checklist monitoring with the appropriate escalation of identified risks for OSU compliance with all financial and legal regulations. - Research economic trends, monitor investments, and support all aspects of cash management activities. - Assist with merchant card solutions for all business units to support them receiving timely accurate support.
This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement as agreed upon with the supervisor.

What You Will Need - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, OR a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or a related field and is a certified treasury professional, OR 8 years of treasury analyst work experience equivalent to the stated position duties. - 4 years of consistent and verifiable direct treasury/financial analysis and cash management experience in any industry. - Demonstrable knowledge and expertise of the key principles of financial management, including forecasting and analysis, with ability to communicate financial data to non-financial individuals. - The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate strong analytical, reporting, technical and data interpretation skills.
Demonstrated Ability to: - Make informed decisions regarding the level of process standardization and how best to improve it with best practices and emerging technologies. - Identify core process breakdowns, analyze potential causes. Identify options to implement the most effective solutions. Understand customer needs and innovate to serve and solve any issues customers have. - Build strong relationships with other staff and teams to align their priorities, manage expectations and influence changes in the process. - Prioritize process improvement efforts based on the understanding of strategic objectives or upcoming business model shifts and initiatives. - Understand the organization’s ability to absorb change and take deliberate action to advise stakeholders and service delivery teams to implement changes smoothly and consistently across locations. - Prepare special reports, studies, and analyses to effectively and clearly communicate verbally and in writing. - A demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. - This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You To Have - Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (or ability to gain via reciprocity) - Experience in treasury management, cash management or banking field. - Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB). - Ability to evaluate and implement compliance oversight and internal control review. - Advanced degree in a financial, business administration or other relevant field. - Experience and understanding of an academic environment. - Organizational Awareness – Understand and convey the University’s mission, the function of the division, and the purpose of the unit’s work and how it interrelates with other units to serve the customer/client. Understand the impact and implications of decisions on the community and other departments.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule - This position is remote eligible. On site work and remote work arrangement will vary and will be determined by the manager. Generally, this position will have the ability to work remotely and will be expected to work within an office environment as needed. - This position may be expected to work after hours to complete projects and/or meet deadlines. The Treasury Analyst will interact and communicate with stakeholders in person, by phone, via email, Teams, and in virtual forums (e.g. Zoom). - Working conditions may include sitting for long periods of time; working at a computer monitor; and unscheduled interruptions.
