We’re seeking a detail-oriented Hotel Optimization Specialist to work closely with our enterprise customer’s travel team, supporting the success of their managed hotel program.  

The Hotel Optimization Specialist plays a key role in maximizing the value of our customers’ managed hotel program. This position is responsible for identifying and securing lower-rate accommodations for corporate travelers while maintaining quality standards and preferred supplier relationships.

This role focuses on optimizing hotel bookings post-reservation to capture savings opportunities without compromising traveler experience or policy compliance.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated and passionate about industry trends, technology, and driving operational efficiency. You will work closely with internal teams, key client contacts, suppliers, and leadership to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth while improving the overall customer experience.


Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor and manage existing hotel reservations using client reporting and identified policy thresholds
  • Search for lower rates at booked properties, when preferred rates have not been obtained
  • Ensure all rebookings maintain the same room type and comply with cancellation policies
  • Proactively identify preferred hotel alternatives when travelers book non-preferred properties in approximately 50 high-volume/high-cost cities
  • Email travelers with options and track acceptance rate or reason for decline
  • Execute rebookings adhering to cancellation windows and traveler preferences
  • Follow up with hotels post stay to resolve virtual card billing issues
  • Generate comprehensive monthly savings reports to demonstrate ROI
  • Analyze program performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Collaborate with customer teams to align optimization efforts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with preferred hotel suppliers to support rate competitiveness and program compliance 
  • Support hotel rate loading, testing and audits
  • Maintain detailed documentation of rate research methodologies and optimization strategies 
  • Assist with reservations support in emergency and unplanned situations
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in corporate travel management or hotel program administration
  • Proficiency with travel booking tools and hotel rebooking platforms
  • Mastery of at least one GDS; Amadeus experience preferred 
  • Solid understanding of corporate travel policies and supplier management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and reporting
  • Experience in generating savings reports and analyzing return on investment
  • Excellent attention to detail and process orientation
  • Reporting accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; ability to deliver clear and effective insights
  • Proficiency in Google suite or Microsoft Office including Teams
  • Service-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams 
  • Team player with a proactive approach to collaboration and knowledge sharing
