Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

Senior Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.

Work includes:

• Developing end-to-end engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
• Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
• Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
• Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of enterprise software solutions while adhering to development processes and best-practices.
• Work closely with business owners, domain architects, lead engineers and other engineers to ensure optimal implementation of solution to support dashboards and analytical datasets.
• Exhibit agile behaviours across a global team with focus on understanding and delivering business value.
• Actively participate in the technical design and architecture of the application or its components, proposes appropriate solution to use and promotes re-usability of existing components.
• Builds understanding and trust, collaborates for success and develops self and others to inclusively engage the organization
• Delivers high quality complex solutions end to end autonomously across a range of technologies.
• Influences standards, working practices, tools and solutions across their team and is emerging as an expert in one or more technical domains.
• Drives automation of the delivery process.
• Strong knowledge of how to operate and improve solutions and services.
• Manages incidents from root cause to resolution.  Feeds back into engineering design and delivery to prevent recurrence of issues and reduce mean time to recovery.
• Seeks to minimize toil by automation.

• Verify integrated software components by automated unit tests and integrated software testing, measure and analyze code for quality and performance.

Skills

• Deep knowledge of Java on both object oriented and functional programming, experience in Java multi-threaded environment, building REST services, knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot frameworks, SQL;
• Familiar with design of REST APIs;
• Leadership skills;
• Architecture and design approaches that support rapid, incremental and iterative delivery, such as Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing and micro services;
• Experience of working with scaled agile delivery methodology concepts in application development;
• Solid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns and software architecture.
