Our work depends on an Information Security Sr Manager joining our program to serve as the program's Lead Security Manager, directing the execution of system security activities, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations and DHS policy over a wide range of information systems security issues (including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access), and working proactively, collaboratively, and with an entrepreneurial spirit in providing O&M support to the customer and their Stakeholder communities in achieving their critical missions.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Manages teams of information security managers and analysts engaged in securing information systems, including security scans and logging, tuning and management of IT security systems and applications, and incident response
  • Coordinates findings, remediation actions, initiatives, and other security actions with peers/managers and system administrators engaged in testing, implementing, configuring, tuning, and patching/upgrading enterprise networks, infrastructure, operating systems, and applications
  • Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments at the network, system, and application level
  • Develops and implements security controls, formulates operational risk mitigations, and assists in security awareness programs
  • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new security tools, techniques, and technologies for introduction into the enterprise in alignment with IT security strategy
  • Prepares, delivers, and briefs security reports to GDIT leadership and to Government Senior Executives, System Owners, Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), and Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs)
  • Supports system certification and accreditation planning, assessment, testing, and liaison activities
  • Supports access management.

 
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of relevant security experience with large-scale IT and database systems in a multi-tier architecture with complex commercial software products and custom code in C++, JAVA, and PL/SQL
  • Required Technical Skills: in-depth knowledge/expertise with the federal and department security requirements or equivalent processes for certification and accreditation, vulnerability scanning and remediation, contingency planning, and interface connection documentation, including: DHS Policy Directive 4300a, Information Technology System Security Program, Sensitive Systems; and NIST Special Publication 800-53, Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations
  • Security Clearance Level: Public Trust (DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability)
  • Required Skills and Abilities:  experience briefing or communicating issues/problems and outcome-based solutions, plans, progress, and results clearly and succinctly to corporate leaders/executives and to Government Senior Executives and senior supervisors/managers; experience leading successful, multifunctional, medium-to-large IA engineering, information systems security, and/or cyber security teams, preferably supporting enterprise IT O&M technologies and/or programs; adept at problem-solving, troubleshooting, collaboration, time management, multi-tasking, and task-ownership; excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Preferred Skills: Master's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study; 15+ yrs of relevant professional experience; experience coordinating or supporting continual improvement initiatives, and demonstrated success in identifying and improving services, service components, practices, or others elements in efficient and effective management of systems security services; in-depth knowledge/expertise with DHS's Cyber Security Assessment and Management (CSAM) tool, DHS's Zero Trust Capability Framework, DHS's Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) program, and/or DHS's Technical Reference Model (TRM); in-depth knowledge/expertise with CDM Elastic, ArcSight, Splunk, Tenable Security Center and Nessus, Fortify, GitLab Ultimate, Maestro, CrowdStrike Falcon, Fortra Powertech Antivirus, and/or Jira; and certifications in CISM, CISSP, CISA, ITIL v4, SAFe Agile Framework, Scrum Master, or similar.

The likely salary range for this position is $150,450 - $203,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
