Purpose of Role:

Weir Minerals North America seeks a seasoned Product Manager to lead the Screen Machines and Media portfolio across North America. This strategic role is designed to strengthen our market presence, enhance competitiveness, and enable commercial success for one of our most critical product lines.

Unlike traditional sales roles, this position requires deep product expertise, strong technical and commercial acumen, and the ability to bridge internal functions, from commercial and engineering to supply chain and sourcing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Support & Enablement
    • Serve as the region's primary technical and commercial authority on Screen Machines and Media.
    • Support commercial and application engineering teams with advanced product knowledge, value positioning, and tailored solutions.
    • Act as the go-to expert for customer discussions, tenders, and technical differentiators.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence
    • Continuously gather, analyze, and report market intelligence, including competitor activities, emerging technologies, pricing benchmarks, and customer trends.
    • Translate insights into recommendations for product positioning, offering evolution, and commercial strategies.
  • Product Performance & Lifecycle Intelligence
    • Monitor and analyze product performance in the field, including reliability, wear life, customer satisfaction, and failure modes.
    • Collaborate with service and engineering teams to address issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain structured feedback loops with global product teams to influence product design and innovation based on NAM needs.
  • Strategy & Offering Development
    • Collaborate with global product teams and regional stakeholders to define and localize the product strategy for Screens and Media in NAM.
    • Contribute to sourcing decisions, vendor selection, and local manufacturing evaluations to improve cost, availability, and competitiveness.
    • Identify offering gaps and initiate enhancements or support introducing new technologies.
  • Business Impact & Performance Tracking
    • Track and report on portfolio performance - orders, margins, market share, and product mix—with support from finance and commercial teams.
    • Support the development of business cases for investments or strategic decisions such as local assembly or cost-out programs.
    • Measure outcomes and ROI of commercial and product initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with capital sales, aftermarket, engineering, marketing, and operations to align product support with broader business goals.
    • Actively contribute to go-to-market planning, promotional campaigns, customer engagement, and sales enablement tools.

Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience with screening equipment and media, including roles in technical support, product, or application engineering.
  • Strong understanding of screening processes, customer applications, and competitor landscape in mining and/or aggregates.
  • Experience supporting or influencing sourcing, vendor selection, or local manufacturing decisions.
  • Commercial awareness with proven ability to translate technical insight into business impact.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, up to 50%, to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and internal meetings.
