Job Description

The Associate Director, US Patient Marketing, is responsible for providing support and direction to the commercial teams for patient brand marketing strategy and tactics execution. This is a critical role with impact and visibility across departments and one that works intimately with key stakeholders within the organization. This role will report to the Director, Patient Marketing in the immunology franchise.

Key responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

  • Support implementation of the commercial marketing plan focusing on key consumer activation and patient adherence strategies  
  • Demonstrate and implement effective project management to ensure deliverables are on time, on budget, and support business objectives
  • Manage external vendors to ensure consistency of strategies, messages, and tactics that are on time and within budget
  • Collaborate closely, and as appropriate, with cross-functional colleagues: HCP marketing, sales, sales training, medical affairs, regulatory, legal and compliance, market access, patient services, customer experience, advocacy, and promotional review committee
  • Support development and execution of a patient ambassador program including planning and oversight of patient ad boards as needed
  • Contribute to development of annual brand plan strategy and tactics
  • Represent marketing in the medical, legal, regulatory promotional reviews, proactively engaging reviewers outside of meetings as needed
  • Oversee patient and vendor contracting process for the marketing team and the assembly of monthly accruals
  • Support field selling efforts, including print inventory management and fulfillment, to ensure patient materials are readily available and addresses customer needs
  • Measure and assess impact and performance of marketing tactics against goals; work with Director, Patient Marketing to adjust plans accordingly

Qualifications
  • BA/BS required
  • 2-5+ years of experience in patient or consumer marketing a must, within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, a health system, or an advertising agency
  • Product launch process familiarity or a strong desire to participate in a launch is a plus
  • Ability to partner well with cross-functional partners to deliver business needs

  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills and mastery in creating exceptional presentations
  • Experience in using Veeva Vault
  • Must have strong planning, project management and organization skills
  • Problem solving and the ability to be agile given launch product workflow
  • Experience in managing complex projects through Medical, Legal, and Regulatory approval process
  • Ability to exercise strong judgement and live up to high ethical and compliance standards
  • Strong self-starter, able to prioritize workload, coordinate cross-functional support, and lead others to meet multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of and demonstrated compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules governing the pharmaceutical industry, including but not limited to FDA guidance for advertising and promotion and PhRMA Code
  • Travel as needed: 20-25%

Additional Information

The base salary pay range for this role is $148,000-$200,000 annually. Actual pay for this position will take into account factors such as experience and location. In addition to a base salary, this position is also eligible for a competitive 401k match, short and long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD and life insurance benefits, in addition to other health and wellness programs and offerings.
