About the Role
As a Sr. Sales Engineer at Amagi, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our platform customers, using your deep expertise in FAST TV platforms, ad monetization, and streaming technologies to solve customer challenges and drive adoption of Amagi’s products and services. You will be responsible for the technical aspects of the pre-sales process, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of our solutions with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Act as the primary technical resource for the sales team, providing expert guidance on FAST TV platforms, ad monetization, streaming technologies (HLS, DASH, SCTE-35), and cloud services.
- Solution Design & POCs: Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, design tailored solutions, and create customer-focused Proofs of Concept (POCs) with clear success criteria.
- Pre-Sales Support: Lead technical discussions during the pre-sales process, including customer requirements gathering, technical demos, and RFP responses. Manage technical customer engagement and ensure a smooth handoff to the onboarding team.
- Product Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Amagi’s products and services, using this expertise to build and deliver curated demos, technical presentations, and training materials.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a technical advisor and ensuring their long-term success with Amagi’s products.
- Industry Engagement: Represent Amagi at trade shows, conferences, and technical forums, demonstrating our product capabilities and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
- Feedback & Development: Gather and communicate client feedback to the product development team, helping to influence product enhancements and ensuring our solutions meet market demands.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Pre-Sales Engagements: Oversee multiple customer opportunities and related projects, prioritizing work and escalating risks as necessary.
- Single Point of Contact: Serve as the main technical contact for customers during the pre-sales process, engaging subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed for complex discussions.
- Discovery & Documentation: Participate in discovery calls, accurately document customer requirements, and create technical Statements of Work (SOW) for proposed solutions.
- Product Gap Analysis: Identify product gaps, create internal cases, and collaborate with the product team on feature requests and prioritization.
- Escalation Support: Provide technical support during customer escalations and collaborate with global internal teams during non-working hours if needed.
- Content Development: Develop technical collateral, including blog posts, training materials, and demos, to support internal and external enablement efforts.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly provide feedback to enhance the pre-sales engineering process and improve product documentation.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
Experience: 10+ years in media & entertainment technologies including streaming tv and ad monetization.
MUST have Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of broadcast engineering workflows, streaming media technologies, ad monetization, content metadata, electronic program guide, monitoring, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in streaming tv standards and protocols: HLS, DASH, ad signaling, SCTE-35, server-side ad insertion (SSAI), client-side ad insertion (CSAI), VAST, ad routers, XMLTV, AVOD.
- Familiarity with streaming analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to optimize ad performance and user experience.
- Proven experience working with FAST platforms and streaming TV platforms.
Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with sales and software engineering tools such as Salesforce, Jira, and Confluence.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely in written and verbal form, including technical instructions and product descriptions.
Problem-Solving & Time Management: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving client challenges and ensuring successful outcomes. Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, with excellent multitasking and time management skills.
