Job description

The Supervisor, Product Development plays a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and improving NCM’s calculated reports and processes related to them. This role requires a proactive, analytical thinker who can navigate complex challenges, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive process improvements. 

Beyond technical and process expertise, this role demands strong people management skills to build, develop, and lead a high-performing team. The Supervisor fosters a culture of mentorship, accountability, and continuous improvement, ensuring optimal productivity and engagement. Success in this position requires a blend of strategic thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate needs while balancing long-term business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Strategic & Process Improvement

o Continuously analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement process enhancements to improve calculated report content, maintenance, and delivery. 

o Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions that optimize workflows.

o Ensure alignment of product development initiatives with broader company goals and strategies.

• Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

o Serve as the primary liaison between the Product Development team, the Product Owners, Application Development team, and other product development teams and stakeholders within the organization.

o Proactively communicate updates, changes, and impacts of financial statement modifications to key stakeholders, including internal teams, consultants, and clients.

o Maintain strong cross-functional awareness to ensure Product Development efforts support and enhance other NCM departments.

• Technical & Analytical Functions

o Troubleshoot and resolve production, data processing, and product-related issues with a methodical, problem-solving approach.

o Work with IT, data processing, and internal teams to develop, maintain, and enhance NCM products, services, and reporting tools.

o Interpret data reporting needs, analyze accounting processes, and create reporting forms and financial guidelines.

o Provide in-depth data analysis and insights related to NCM client financial statements and calculated report products upon request.

• People Leadership & Development

o Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing team members, ensuring proper staffing and skill alignment.

o Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to encourage growth and knowledge retention.

o Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.

o Conduct performance evaluations, recognition programs, and necessary corrective actions to optimize individual and team performance.

• Client & Internal Support

o Provide customer support for both internal employees and clients regarding NCM products, services, and data processes.

o Answer phone and email inquiries, ensuring timely and knowledgeable responses.

o Coordinate product and process updates with IT, data processing, and other internal teams to maintain alignment with changing industry standards.

Qualifications

Required: 

• Some college coursework with an emphasis on accounting and writing skills, or equivalent professional experience.

• 5+ years of experience in data processing with a strong emphasis on OEM financial statement accounting practices.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced capabilities in Excel and data analysis tools.

• Experience in reporting services, including SSRS, Tableau, PowerBi, etc. 

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to break down complex problems and assess long-term impacts.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical details to diverse audiences.

• A proactive and detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy and thorough follow-through on tasks.

• High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and professionalism when interacting with various stakeholders.

• The ability to multitask and manage competing priorities without sacrificing quality or accuracy.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team while maintaining a calm and supportive approach under pressure.

Preferred: 

• Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on accounting and writing skills. 

• Excellent business writing experience.

• Familiarity with NCM’s internal workflows, product lifecycles, and the Harbor Programs is a plus.

• Cross-functional awareness, understanding how product development initiatives impact and integrate with other departments within NCM.
