Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Pre-Construction Electrical Engineer to support high-performance data center electrical infrastructure projects. This role will focus on early-phase design evaluation, cost estimation, constructability analysis, and coordination with design, operations, and procurement teams to ensure the seamless handoff from design to field execution.
Key Responsibilities
Flexible location (U.S. based) Up to 25% travel expected for site walks, pre-bid meetings, and coordination with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders.

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Pre-Construction Electrical Engineer to support high-performance data center electrical infrastructure projects. This role will focus on early-phase design evaluation, cost estimation, constructability analysis, and coordination with design, operations, and procurement teams to ensure the seamless handoff from design to field execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support design development reviews and assist in bridging design-to-build gaps for LV/MV electrical systems including switchgear, UPS, generators, grounding, and power distribution.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and comparative cost analysis during budgeting and bid-leveling phases.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to support RFP packages, value engineering alternatives, and bid clarifications.
- Collaborate with estimating and procurement teams to identify material lead times, spec-compliant alternates, and vendor strategies.
- Analyze drawings and specifications for constructability and risk assessment.
- Interface with AHJ and permitting consultants to align project milestones with regulatory timelines.
- Attend design coordination meetings with owners, consultants, and general contractors.
- Provide preliminary equipment layouts and coordinate with BIM/VDC teams for early model integration.
- Coordinate handover packages to operations teams including scope narratives, assumptions, and deviations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
- Minimum 4–7 years of electrical engineering or estimating experience, ideally with data center or mission-critical projects.
- Familiarity with NEC, IEEE standards, and Tier classification systems (Uptime Institute).
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, or equivalent tools).
- Experience with medium voltage (15kV class) systems preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a detail-focused, analytical mindset.

Pay
- $100,000 - $130,000
- Bonus
