Role Overview
As the Operations Team Manager, you are primarily responsible for overseeing, managing and evaluating the effectiveness of a workflows operations team while guiding and developing a strong team of program managers.
You will be responsible for leading a team of project managers who coordinate projects through various project management processes as defined by the business. Day to day, you will work with external Subject Matter Experts, Program Managers, Learning Specialists, and Operations Managers within GOC to ensure on-time and quality deliverables.
Position Responsibilities
Oversee a team of program managers who will provide end-to-end project management in collaboration with Mastery’s PMO for learning programs and prioritized projects
Ensure transparency of operations and ongoing projects to the Google team through regular business reviews with management and stakeholders and regular portfolio health checks
Work closely with stakeholders to ensure swift and reliable resolution of open issues
Monitor overall success of project delivery
Review performance data from the operations teams to evaluate the effectiveness of individual influencers
Ensure teams have all necessary resources to perform delivery work.
Document process improvement opportunities and facilitate the change management process to enact those improvements
Serve as incident manager and confirm the reporting incident validity, category, and priority level
Perform root cause analysis for operational issues as needed with a solutions focused resolution intent
Assess the feasibility of proposed problem resolutions, including the resource availability and project schedules; review and approve workarounds and resolutions
Develop, coach, and guide program managers with an eye towards skill development, ability refinement, and overall growth in role
Required
Required Skills:
10+ years of experience in a program management environment
5+ years of people management experience
Excellent verbal and written English language skills
Experience presenting operations/project reports to audiences with varying levels of expertise
Experience managing an agile team of project managers within a global project management environment
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to be customer-oriented in handling communications and issues
Experience working in a learning management environment
Experience using project management software such as Asana, SmartSheets, Monday, etc.
Experience working within a Democratic PMO
Experience creating operations reports and surfacing actionable data points.
PMP or similar certification
Experience managing in a PMI or ADDIE driven organization
