Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is instrumental in transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights through intuitive dashboards, reports, and visualizations. This role requires a strong blend of technical proficiency in BI tools, an understanding of data storytelling, and the ability to gather and interpret business requirements. The BI Developer will empower stakeholders across the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions, enhancing operational efficiency and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using industry-leading business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Collaborate extensively with business users and subject matter experts to gather, understand, and translate reporting and analytical requirements into technical specifications.
Connect to diverse data sources, perform necessary data extraction, transformation, and loading, ensuring data accuracy and consistency within BI solutions.
Optimize BI reports and dashboards for performance, scalability, and user experience, ensuring rapid data retrieval and smooth interactivity.
Develop and implement robust data models within BI tools to support complex analytical queries, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, and various reporting needs.
Provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to end-users on BI tools, dashboards, and reports, fostering data literacy and self-service analytics capabilities.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data discrepancies, report functionality, performance bottlenecks, and user access within BI environments.
Implement and enforce data governance and security measures within BI solutions, ensuring data protection and adherence to organizational policies.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging BI technologies, and data visualization best practices to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
Present analytical findings and insights through compelling visual storytelling, making complex data easily understandable and impactful for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Certifications: Certifications in relevant BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist) are highly desirable.
Experience required:
3+ years of dedicated experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or in a similar data visualization and reporting role.
Strong proficiency in at least one major BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) with a portfolio of developed dashboards.
Solid experience with SQL for data querying, manipulation, and understanding data structures.
Demonstrated ability to design and develop visually appealing, user-friendly, and informative dashboards and reports.
Experience working with large datasets and understanding data warehousing concepts.
