Senior Accountant

As we continue to grow through strategic acquisitions and innovation, we are seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to support our accounting shared services. 

Position Overview:  The Senior Accountant will be responsible for daily financial transactions, month-end accounting, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and annual budget preparation for multiple entities. In addition, the individual will provide ad hoc support to management and collaborate with financial planning and analysis, as well as assist with data requests related to the annual financial audit, tax return preparation, and other routine requests within required timeframes. This position will report the Accounting Manager. It is a full-time, remote-friendly position with up to 10% travel required.  

Responsibilities:  

• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality in all areas of Unrivaled Sports accounting and financial reporting. 
• Prepare monthly journal entries, including overseeing revenue recognition, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
• Record daily Cash Receipts, investigate, and account for reconciling items. 
• Present month-end financial packages, inclusive of balance sheets, income statements with a comparison to forecast and budget, and cash flows to key stakeholders. 
• Complete account reconciliations, monthly workpaper support, and inputs to consolidating corporate roll-forwards. 
• Prepare routine PBC deliverables and support for the annual financial audit and tax returns.  
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance existing processes to achieve greater efficiency and adherence to best practices. 
• Assist manager with various requests and collaborate with other departments on special projects. 

Qualifications:  

Required  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. 
• Strong understanding of GAAP and ability to execute operationally. 
• Advanced analytical skills within Excel. 
• Highly detailed oriented and organized in work with an ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong quantitative abilities, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt messages to various audiences.  
• Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic environment. 
• Ability to meet deadlines without supervision. 

 Preferred  

• Professional qualification such as CPA  
• Public accounting experience  
• Passion for youth sports 
• Working knowledge of Sage Intacct, Bill.com and Concur
