Job Summary

This position serves as the first point of contact for employees requesting a job accommodation in support of a qualifying disability that might be limiting their ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Helps employees regarding accommodation requests of simple to complex scope. Assesses and triages the requests and provides guidance to employees while ensuring a frustration-free experience.

Develops accommodation suggestions for employer’s approval.  Consults with employers about accommodation options, processes, correspondence, and problem solving for issues.  Attends status meetings with employers. 

Individuals in this role have exceptional communication and organizational skills, superior attention to detail, an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with the customer service focus that employees expect at The Standard.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • ADA Acumen: Provide subject matter expertise by demonstrating a high level of understanding of the ADAAA law and guidelines established by the EEOC, articulating the purpose of the ADA and provide an overview of the law for employees and employers.

  • Case Management: Provide expert and timely case mgmt. for ADA claims using a strong understanding of ADA case management processes and guidelines for cases of simple to moderate complexity.

  • Employee Interaction:  Fosters trust and rapport with employees through case mgmt. with the intention to create accommodation options to support employees’ return to work or stay at work.

  • Employer Interaction:  Provide account management and subject matter expertise to employers for ADA claims needs, offering guidance on ADA laws, claims processes, systems, case reviews, process questions, or other customer service issues.

Skills and Background You’ll Need

  • Experience:  Two (2) to four (4) years of demonstrated progressive experience with disability accommodation, absence management, return to work, claim administration and reporting or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

  • Preferred professional licensure or certification:  PHR, CPDM, ADA certification. 

  • Proven track record of being successful with providing support and guidance to employees and employers as it relates to accommodations.

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field; or equivalent work experience in human resources, leave management or benefit management.

  • Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.

Salary Range:

$64,250.00 - $94,000.00
