we are currently looking for a Payment Platforms Product Team Leader to lead our Payment Platforms team. This team owns the core infrastructure that powers Nayax’s global transaction routing, acquiring interfaces, and payment APIs — forming the backbone for all Nayax products and services.
This role requires a combination of deep technical fluency, strong leadership, and a product mindset capable of transforming backend infrastructure into robust, reusable, and scalable platforms for internal and external consumption.
The Payment Platforms Product Team Leader will report directly to the Senior Director Payment Solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Product Managers responsible for the design and evolution of Nayax’s payment platforms.
- Define and own the strategic roadmap for core payment systems, ensuring alignment with company-wide goals.
- Promote a platform-thinking culture: modular, scalable, reusable, and secure product architecture.
- Translate business and technical needs into clear product requirements, API designs, and platform capabilities.
- Analyze industry trends and emerging standards to guide future platform architecture and compliance (e.g., PCI, EMV, ISO8583).
- Define KPIs and success metrics, and manage SLAs and performance benchmarks.
- Work closely with R&D, QA, DevOps, InfoSec, and Compliance to ensure high-quality, reliable platform delivery.
- Collaborate with Payment Services, Business Units, Operations, and Customer Support to gather requirements and drive adoption.
- Lead discovery sessions and architecture/design reviews, ensuring feasibility and alignment across functions.
- Execution & Delivery
- Manage platform releases in Agile/Scrum environments; prioritize work and remove obstacles for your team.
- Ensure quality delivery, coordinate internal pilots, and support go-lives when introducing new infrastructure capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Product Management within fintech, payments, or platform domains.
- 2+ years of experience in a team lead or group product role with direct reports.
- Strong background in backend system design, payments, or API platforms.
- Experience with REST APIs (Swagger/YAML), data modeling (ERD, flow charts), and system architecture artifacts.
- Solid SQL skills and familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., BI, Kibana).
- ·Experience with distributed systems, SaaS platforms, and microservices.
- Understanding of acquirer integrations, payment routing, and transaction lifecycle.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills (verbal and written English).
- High analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong ownership, autonomy, and team-building skills.
