What You Will Do:
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and hands-on experience in system implementation. The ideal candidate will bring domain expertise in GIS applications preferably within the utilities sector and will play a key role in guiding system design, integration, and deployment efforts.
Provide technical oversight and strategic guidance on GIS software selection, configuration, and deployment.
Lead or support the implementation of GIS solutions, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS with other enterprise systems.
Advise on GIS architecture and data governance best practices.
Support risk mitigation strategies and ensure system scalability and performance.
Contribute to project planning, execution, and quality assurance activities.
Mentor junior team members and provide knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of experience working with GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, QGIS).
Proven experience implementing GIS systems in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of spatial data models, geoprocessing workflows, and GIS integration with utility operations.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Experience in the utilities sector (electric, gas, water).
Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to GIS in utilities.
Certifications such as GISP or PMP are a plus.
