What You Will Do:
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and hands-on experience in system implementation. The ideal candidate will bring domain expertise in GIS applications preferably within the utilities sector and will play a key role in guiding system design, integration, and deployment efforts.

• Provide technical oversight and strategic guidance on GIS software selection, configuration, and deployment.

• Lead or support the implementation of GIS solutions, ensuring alignment with operational and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS with other enterprise systems.

• Advise on GIS architecture and data governance best practices.

• Support risk mitigation strategies and ensure system scalability and performance.

• Contribute to project planning, execution, and quality assurance activities.

• Mentor junior team members and provide knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.

What You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 6+ years of experience working with GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, QGIS).

• Proven experience implementing GIS systems in enterprise environments.

• Strong understanding of spatial data models, geoprocessing workflows, and GIS integration with utility operations.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience in the utilities sector (electric, gas, water).

• Project management experience, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to GIS in utilities.

• Certifications such as GISP or PMP are a plus.
