Operations Lead, Corporate Risk Solutions

Corporate Risk Solutions (CRS) is a division within M&G Life with a remit is to design and deliver bulk purchase annuities and alternative de-risking products for Defined Benefit pension schemes. Due to ongoing success and a strong opportunity, the team is adding headcount in a number of areas.

The Operations Lead is responsible for the ensuring transactions that are executed are executed in a sustainable and scalable manner.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Management of the CRS Operations Team including responsibility for managing the onboarding of BPA transactions
  • Delivery of Bulk contractual requirements (data cleanse , due diligence)
  • Work with the Client Managers to ensure that robust plans are in place to support each BPA transactions including the ensuring the appropriate operational resources are secured
  • Development of scalable solutions including the development of robust processes and controls
  • Development of staff
  • Oversight of third party Administrators
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholder on challenges to assumptions and calculations
  • Drive continuous improvement through innovation and the seeking out and acting on new opportunities
  • Provide management information to appropriate governance forums
  • Support the delivery of other elements of the CRS business plan

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong analytical or actuarial skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Team leadership skills
  • Financial Services & Insurance knowledge, especially around defined benefit pension de-risking, with profits and reinsurance
  • Experience of managing a number of internal parties to ensure delivery of contractual deliverables
  • Passion for the customer
  • Pension Technical knowledge
  • Effective written and presentation skills
  • High degree of honesty, integrity and discretion
