What will you do?

A day in the life of a Lease Administration Lead at VF looks a little like this.

As part of VF’s North American Lease Administration and Accounting Team, this position provides intermediary leadership and guidance to a team of Lease Analysts and collaborates cross-functionally with VF’s North American Real Estate team. The Lease Administration Lead, in conjunction with the Real Estate team, is responsible for tracking, supporting and enacting VF’s North American owned and leased real estate activities. This position supports the Sr. Lease Administration and Accounting Manager and overall team in achieving functional organization, coordination, development, and improvement objectives, and plays an integral role in meeting work product oversight goals and requirements.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Demonstrate a command of commercial lease contracts and concepts associated with retail, industrial, office and equipment assets, and exhibit detailed, holistic lease contract administration experience including rent management, occupancy expense auditing, rent account maintenance, sales reporting and percentage rent, lease abstraction, critical dates management/enactment, operational and legal requirements, landlord/tenant relations, and real estate development.
  • Proactively track critical lease activity dates including lease expirations, month-to-month tenancy periods, various option deadlines via the lease management system and route regular related reports to the Real Estate team.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Real Estate team to notify them of upcoming lease action items, solicit/intake timely directions, seek clarifications as needed, and track and enact anticipated/final directions relative to rent processing, lease accounting and other recurring or special deadlines.
  • Support the Real Estate team & related stakeholders by fielding inquiries and requests related to lease negotiations, enactment of lease actions, existing lease statuses, estoppels, lease provision reviews, etc. and notify them of any lease administration disputes, issues or other pertinent activities.
  • Track the execution of various lease-related agreements and documentation, and subsequently abstract such documentation in the lease management system in compliance with established deadlines, procedures and lease accounting standards, such that identified lease attributes are timely, accurately and consistently maintained.
  • Support the Real Estate team and other VF stakeholders with lease management reporting requests. Notify Lease team members of specified changes to lease terms resulting from lease amendments or other modification documents, or decisions impacting lease statuses or payment procedures.
  • Actively track real estate construction and special projects from inception to completion (new leases, relocations, expansions/downsizes, etc.).
  • Participate in SOX audit review procedures as requested relative to lease population management and maintenance of lease terms impacting lease accounting.
  • Serve as intermediary between Sr. Lease Manager and Lease Analysts by fielding inquiries, troubleshooting issues, reviewing work, administering feedback/training, and assisting with the timely coordination of lease administration deliverables.
