We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Software Engineer with C#, .NET & SQL skills to join our growing global and distributed product development team. As a tech savvy software craftsman, you must have a deep understanding of coding principles, understand object-oriented programming and appreciate the agile development way of working. All developers are encouraged to consistently assist in innovation of the software development in terms of agility, DevOps and modern development technologies.
This role is anything but your average Senior Software Engineer job, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting new solutions by using speech recognition to enable voice control in a warehouse setting. We operate daily stands ups, sprint retro and SCRUM tactics. This role focuses on being part of the Voice Product Team, working together to learn faster.
What a day in the life looks like:
Develop and maintain software using C#, .NET, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript/TypeScript, following Agile practices and SOLID principles.
Actively contribute to system design, technical specifications, and process improvements to support business goals.
Resolve software defects promptly and handle 3rd line support issues to ensure smooth system operation.
Manage and enhance Azure DevOps tasks and oversee delivery timelines.
Provide mentoring to junior colleagues and collaborate with the team and stakeholders to prioritise and estimate system enhancements.
Produce high-quality, well-documented, unit-tested code, and author clear technical documentation.
What you bring to the team:
At least 5 years’ proven experience in software development, with strong skills in C# (.NET Core/Framework), SQL (preferably PostgreSQL), and the web stack (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript).
Expertise in object-relational mapping (e.g., Entity Framework or NHibernate), software design patterns, and the use of development tools such as Visual Studio.
Strong grasp of software build processes, Azure DevOps, CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure Pipelines/Jenkins), and version control (Git), with experience deploying containers (e.g., Kubernetes) or Functions.
Solid experience with service-oriented and microservices architectures, REST Web Services, and developing Single Page Applications (SPA), ideally supported by Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban).
Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills, with a self-motivated and adaptable approach in dynamic environments, and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
Knowledge of software security principles (e.g., OWASP) and industry-specific experience (retail/logistics), along with a full driving licence would be a plus.
