Job description

Who we are

Our goal at OpenUp is to make mental well-being accessible to everyone. We support companies, their employees, and employees' families with mental well-being. Our OpenUp platform provides employees and their families access to mental well-being check-ins, online courses, articles, videos, interactive group sessions, mindfulness sessions, and a team of experienced experts. We believe that physical and mental well-being go hand in hand, and that lifestyle factors such as nutrition, sleep, and stress management are key to achieving balance. By integrating our Lifestyle Experts to the platform with a focus on nutrition, exercise and sleep, we ensure a holistic approach to health. We strive to build high-performing teams that help people develop to their fullest potential. We take pride in raising the bar and achieving the next level.

OpenUp is ranked number 3 on LinkedIn’s Top Startups list for 2024 and is rapidly growing. We are expanding our international teams and we are searching for like-minded talent. We are already helping over 1500+ (international) companies and 400K+ employees, e.g. Rituals, Deloitte, Decathlon, KPMG, and McDonalds.

Your role

To fuel our growth, we are looking for entrepreneurial, purpose-driven experts who share our vision of making mental well-being direct, approachable, and impactful.

At OpenUp, we focus on prevention. We don’t diagnose; we provide guidance for life’s everyday challenges - whether it’s work-related stress, self-confidence, relationship dynamics, or finding direction in uncertain times.

We offer planned and on-demand video consults seven days a week, ensuring people can access support when they need it most - no long waits, no barriers. In each session (usually 25 minutes), you’ll help clients set clear, actionable goals and guide them toward meaningful first steps.

Our mission is to help people build skills and autonomy, so they feel confident to continue their journey independently. Many clients find they gain what they need in just a few focused conversations - thanks to your structured, goal-oriented support.

You’ll engage with a wide variety of people, from diverse cultural backgrounds and industries, and you’ll have opportunities to grow through weekly intervision sessions and ongoing development. We work together to make mental well-being accessible, practical, and empowering for everyone.

About you

You’re a psychologist (MSc) who’s passionate about making a difference- both locally and internationally. You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to a meaningful mission.

We welcome experts who meet the following criteria:

  • You have native-level fluency in US English
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) and confident in delivering consultations in English.
  • Master's degree in Psychology.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in 1:1 clinical conversations.
  • Solid knowledge of solution-focused therapy, ACT, and/or CBT.
  • Tech-savvy, with a self-reliant approach to digital platforms and systems.
  • You have a laptop/computer with Windows 10 or later, OR MacOS Ventura or later, AND an antivirus turned on in your device.
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and open to continuous learning.
  • A team player who thrives independently and takes ownership of personal and professional growth.
  • A natural connector: you create a safe, supportive space for clients and act decisively to help them move forward.
  • You live the "practice what you preach" mindset, showing integrity and reflection in how you approach both clients and colleagues.
  • Freelance experience is a plus, as we value self-starters who are confident in managing their own practice.

What we offer

Join us at a time of exciting growth, where your expertise and ideas are valued. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A freelance contract for around 10 hours per week (about 20 consultations weekly).
  • A diverse and international team with expertise in work and organizational psychology, health psychology, lifestyle medicine, and more.
  • A culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Weekly check-ins, intervision sessions, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Two dedicated training half-days each year to reflect on your practice and develop your skills further.
