Job Title: Scheduling Optimization Consultant (Epic | Remote | Contract)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Pay Range: $60–$70 per hour
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
We are seeking a results-driven Scheduling Optimization Consultant with Epic experience to support strategic improvements to scheduling workflows and operations across hospital and ambulatory settings. This contract role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with a strong background in healthcare operations and a passion for driving efficiency and patient access.
Evaluate current scheduling practices and identify opportunities for optimization within Epic.
Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to streamline appointment workflows and templates.
Analyze data to assess scheduling gaps, access delays, and resource utilization.
Configure Epic scheduling tools to align with operational goals and access targets.
Support the development of best practices, training materials, and SOPs.
Provide actionable insights through dashboards, metrics, and ongoing reporting.
3+ years of experience in scheduling operations within a healthcare setting.
Proficient in Epic scheduling tools (Cadence, templates, provider build, etc.).
Strong analytical and workflow redesign skills.
Bachelor’s degree required (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field).
Experience working in a hospital, inpatient, or multi-specialty ambulatory setting preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.
Epic Cadence certification or proven hands-on configuration experience.
Familiarity with patient access metrics (e.g., lead time, utilization, no-show rates).
Experience supporting enterprise-level scheduling standardization or optimization initiatives.
