Role Description: 

The Director, Inbound & HUB Operations will oversee and optimize the performance of five North American Hubs, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and key results (OKRs) while setting meaningful future goals. This role requires a strategic manager capable of collaborating with a third-party logistics provider in two of our five hubs to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery for our merchants. This role reports to the Senior Director, Fulfillment Operations. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Safety Leadership:  
    • Cultivate a safety-first culture across Hub Operations, ensuring that safety is prioritized in all activities and decision-making processes. 
  • Operational Management:  
    • Oversee daily operations of the hub network, including pre-shift planning and end-of-shift (EoS) reporting.  
    • Provide actionable feedback and insights on pre-shift planning, guiding operations leaders based on performance metrics and operational variances.  
  •  Strategic Collaboration:  
    • Work closely with the senior operations team to align operational goals and develop strategies for future hub growth.  
    • Partner with key stakeholders across safety, SIC/SFN operations, transportation, product, and technology teams to run cohesive operational strategies.  
  • Performance Monitoring:  
    • Manage and audit key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly basis to ensure alignment with OKR goals.  
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement initiatives to enhance hub performance.  
  •  Culture Development:  
    • Inspire a culture of inclusivity and excitement within Hub Operations, fostering engagement and collaboration among team members.  
    • Remove barriers for Operations Managers by advocating for their needs and facilitating cross-functional partnerships.  
    • Mentor and develop Operations Managers at each hub, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth.   
    • Establish training programs and performance metrics to elevate team capabilities and deliver accountability.  
  • Relationship Building:  
    • Establish and maintain excellent relationships across various functions to enhance operational synergy and support hub initiatives.  
    • Develop and maintain a solid partnership with third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless integration and performance.   
  • Leadership and Strategic Alignment: 
    • Deliver operational excellence across five hubs, aligning daily activities with the 2024 OKRs. 
    • Set long-term goals that elevate hub operations and enhance service standards.   
  • Collaboration with Third-Party Logistics: 
    • Monitor and optimize logistics processes to support hub operations and merchant needs.   
  •  Adaptability in a Growing Network: 
    • Navigate and adapt to the complexities of a rapidly expanding operational network.  
    • Implement agile strategies to respond effectively to changing market demands and operational issues.   
  •  Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 
    • Analyze hub performance data and implement strategies for improvement.  
    • Regularly report on operational metrics to senior leadership, highlighting achievements and areas for growth. 
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. 

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, logistics, supply chain, business or equivalent work experience.   
  • A minimum, 8-10 years of progressive operations, fulfillment, logistics, and warehouse management experience – we prefer a complex in-house operation.   
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer package fulfillment, sortation centers, and inbound HUB operations.  
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics is a requirement. You must be an excel wizard.   
  • Deep experience with WMS systems and partnerships with product teams to build new functionalities and the ability to communicate your data and recommendations.   
  • You must love working with a team of highly dedicated, fast movers, who live by the motto “never a dull day!”  
  • A desire to get your hands dirty in a growing company where your work matters and is vital to our success.  
  • Will require up to 50% travel to regional sites.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. We are targeting a salary range of $131,450 - $219,083 for this role. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $131,450 - $219,083. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
