THE CHALLENGE

As the Engineering Manager for Event Creation in the Creator world at Eventbrite, you will lead a talented team dedicated to empowering our creators—people who bring their events to life on eventbrite.com.

Your team’s mission: Empower creators with a flexible, modern, and performant way to build listing pages that enables the creation and management of both single events and event collections for in-person and online events.

You will help creators easily conceptualize, launch, and improve events of all types and scales, from a local art class to global phenomena like Cirque du Soleil.

You’ll work closely with Design and Product to:

  • Help creators leverage AI to set up their events effortlessly.
  • Onboard, educate, and accelerate new creators as they go from novice to power creators.
  • Drive complex workflows, like setting up series and recurring events, with ease and reliability.
  • Guide creators with actionable insights—deliver quality scores and optimization tips to improve event success.
  • Inspire the next generation of creators, fostering the journey from free users to thriving paid creators.
THE TEAM

Eventbrite's business continues to grow and scale rapidly, powering millions of events. Event creators and attendees need to be empowered with new tools and technologies to assist them in having the most meaningful live experiences.

THE ROLE
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers, guiding their work and supporting their professional development.
  • Drive initiatives for event creation workflows, onboarding, and AI-assisted creation tools, ensuring excellence in both product quality and team execution.
  • Refine our software design lifecycle: clarify product requirements, set and uphold engineering standards, and accelerate team delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Design to define, prioritize, and break down complex problems into roadmap initiatives.
  • Champion strong engineering practices and foster a culture of innovation, diversity, and psychological safety.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve user experience for event creators, leveraging data, user feedback, and your own product intuition.
  • Encourage ownership and thought leadership across the team—amplify the team’s work at all levels of the organization.
THE SKILLSET
  • Experienced in leading, managing, and inspiring cross-functional, agile engineering teams.
  • A solid technical background with a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable software following lean/agile methodologies.
  • Comfortable participating in architectural discussions, asking informative questions, and assisting the team in making strategic trade-offs.
  • Experience applying concepts like experimentation, rapid prototyping, MVP definition, user research, and data-driven, customer-first decision-making to engineering.
  • Experience working within a highly collaborative, remote-first environment, driving a team that ships code to production often.
  • The ability to recruit, onboard, grow and develop a globally-distributed engineering team
  • An understanding of build/deployment pipelines and tooling
  • An understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent facilitation skills involving the whole team in group-based decision-making.
  • The ability to work proficiently in Spanish and English.
