ROLE OVERVIEW:

Green Man Gaming is looking for a Business Leaders to Head up our Global Publishing business. As a key member in our business, reporting directly to the Founder & CEO, you will own and drive our Publishing Business from product acquisition to launch and beyond. understanding the wider commercial implications of game publishing. Primarily working with highly successful independent studios and developers, you'll leverage your skills and knowledge to become an indispensable partner during the development cycle and turn 'vision' into tangible commercial success.

Requirements

KEY DELIVERABLES:

  • BUSINESS STRATEGY: You own the overall strategy, revenue and growth targets for the Publishing unit. You know the market and have the skillset to deliver commercial success. A natural storyteller, you can harness data to present and build compelling publishing plans including defining and driving the milestones needed to achieve our commercial targets from greenlight to street and beyond. You define and drive global publishing strategy for all game titles across all platforms and lead the go-to-market planning, including pricing, positioning, and launch strategies.
  • COMMERCIAL SUCCESS: It's your train set. You own the P&L, you can spot and secure opportunity, and recommend business models, platform and pricing strategies to achieve success. You oversee product selection, commercial agreements, marketing strategy, production, community delivering success for the studio and Green Man Gaming.
  • MARKET & CONSUMER UNDERSTANDING: You know games and you know people who make them. You have a great understanding of the industry and harness this insight to drive project decisions from a global perspective and are always the product champion.
  • STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS: You are extremely proactive; you actively listen and positively challenge. Relationships are everything. You will work closely with the Commercial Acquisitions and Trading teams to agree the vision for building the portfolio based on trends and sales data. You forge strategic relationships with platform holders (e.g. Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Steam, Epic).
  • COMMERCIAL ACQUISITION: You are a key stakeholder in the game acquisition process. You will actively engage with the internal business development team on potential new studios and games, and provide focus and guidance pre-terms, and when agreed will own the DD process through to Greenlight.

WE NEED:

  • Leadership: You successfully build a team and lead by example, you actively listen, you mentor, you provide focus.
  • Deep games industry knowledge: You have an in-depth (and hands on) understanding of the games market in particular digital distribution, and digital ecosystems especially Steam, Xbox, PSN and Nintendo
  • Proven commercial acumen: You are entrepreneurial with commercial mindset,you can spot it, close it, and make it successful (on budget)
  • Contract and licensing: You can negotiate deals, find your way around a contract and understand the contractual elements of copyright, licensing and royalties
  • Project management: You are structured, you have a deep understanding of the development process on PC, console
  • Communication skills: You manage out ambiguity and are confident, clear communicator and presenter. You represent the publishing division on the executive leadership team and the CEO
  • Action orientated: You are happy to role your sleeves up and get it done
