Job Overview

Develop and maintain a thorough technological knowledge of Data Center vertical market. Determine what approaches and methods to be utilized in order to profitably create demand & increase sales penetration in this market across Hubbell Business Units. Has responsibility for supporting and growing sales of targeted accounts, customer presentations, demonstrations, achieving standards/specification approvals and helping to develop marketing programs designed to gain market share. Maintain close contact with top customers to ensure alignment in strategy and New Product Development. Responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and communicating Hubbell Products written specifications at Data Center Owners, Engineering Firms, EPC’s, Industrials, and other end users.

 

This territory will be covering the West Coast region including CA/CO/OR/WA/AZ/NV.  Candidate can reside in any of these locations.

 

A Day In The Life

1. Analyze and maintain customer databases, including those of end customers, Owners, and EPCs. Collaborate with sales management to develop and support strategic sales goals.

2. Identify and pursue specification opportunities, working closely with sales representatives to ensure successful execution, follow-through, and cross-selling opportunities.

3. Lead project management efforts for Data Center vertical projects, from initiation through completion. Coordinate with local Field Sales Representatives and Territory Managers to ensure

Hubbell’s full product portfolio is successfully specified and delivered.

4. Deliver presentations and engage subject matter experts to promote Hubbell solutions at targeted end-user accounts, ensuring product specifications align with customer requirements.

5. Act as the Hubbell Vertical Market Expert, ensuring product offerings align with evolving industry-specific standards and specifications.

6. Collaborate with Business Unit Leaders to provide data-driven market forecasts and inform strategic planning.

7. Maintain and communicate current product standards via SharePoint. Notify Field Sales teams of any updates or changes to standards.

8. Support new product development initiatives by working with Product Managers to create and execute go-to-market plans for vertical-specific product introductions.

9. Perform other assigned duties as required

What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.); and four to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  •  Strong written and verbal communications skills.

  •  Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.
  •  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully;
  • Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason. 
  •  Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Experience selling connector type products to the telecom/Data Center Market
  • Ability to deliver high level technical presentations to engineers/designers in the telecom field.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
