The Role

The NaaS UI team is comprised of global frontend, backend, and full-stack developers working as a unit to develop optimal customer experiences for Lumen’s Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) offerings including its Internet-, Ethernet-, and IPVPN-on-Demand services. This team develops quality, customer-facing experiences with support tools and underlying services to ensure the stability and performance for the Lumen’s NaaS experience.

 

 

The Lead Software Developer is a hands-on role that contributes to evolving product requirements into production-ready software and a supporting leader to design, develop, test, and debug complex, first-in-class software. This contributor will apply existing technical and applicable domain knowledge and help implement new and approved technologies and processes for sustaining business solutions and development practices. They are a foundational voice for other members in the application of principles and concepts and use of methodologies, tools, documentation, and test procedures to complete projects. They will be a key member of the Lumen Digital organization and is a self-starter with a can-do attitude and must be agile within a fast-moving business and a technical environment.

Location

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the US and Canada.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Resolving issues in a complex and multi-tiered integration architecture between UIs, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, subsystems, and databases in non-production and production environments
  • Effectively communicating with peers, product owners, and management to resolve issues as needed and statuses of assignments using collaboration and productivity tools with Jira, Confluence
  • Mentoring technical areas, including business processes implemented in the team's applications and delivery of solutions in accordance with architectural direction
  • Engagement in all aspects of the development life cycle including design, coding, reviews, testing, deployment, and support
  • Guiding and supporting others in the application of principles, concepts, and methodologies, tools, processes and protocols to successfully deliver projects
  • Contributing to design and architecture solutions for integration workflows and order management systems
  • Working with various teams to deliver business-impacting projects
  • Analyzing metrics to maximize performance, ability, and availability
What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent education, and a demonstrable history of development roles with expanding responsibilities and corresponding successful deliveries
  • Full-stack engineering experience with a variety of technologies to implement software solutions, including but not limited to:
  • Robust, secure, responsive frontends utilizing frameworks using: 
    • JavaScript, TypeScript, Babel, Webpack
    • Vue.js 2/3, Composition API, Pinia
    • CSS, pre-processors, libraries, and UX design specifications
    • Asynchronous processing, websockets
  • Significant experience with developing and integrating resilient, secure, RESTful and GraphQL APIs and micro-services architectures using Java and Node.js designed and documented with OpenAPI and SwaggerHub
  • Enterprise-scale data persistence using SQL and NoSQL with the ability to write and understand secure, complex queries for both relational and non-relational data models, aggregation, caches, indexes
  • Experience automated testing suites using Playwright, Vitest
  • Knowledge of versioning using Git, GitHub
  • Experience with CI/CD automation with Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with SCRUM, SCRUM at Scale

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Application performance management with Splunk, AppDynamics, and ELK Stack
  • Enterprise telecom experience with developing customer-facing frontends for the quote, order, and management of products in secured environments
  • Experience with AWS and Developer Associate certification
Compensation

"This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

 

Location Based Pay Ranges

 

$103,711 - $138,281 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 

$108,896 - $145,195 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 

$114,082 - $152,109 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
