Position Summary

Sales Managers are responsible for maximizing sales within their designated territory by cultivating strong relationships with existing trade partners, driving brand awareness, and identifying new customer prospects utilizing consultative sales best practices. By effectively representing the tour brands to the travel industry and the public, Sales Managers strive for the successful execution of their sales plan and the achievement of their passenger objectives/goals. Sales Managers represent Trafalgar, Insight, Luxury Gold, Costsaver, Brendan Vacations, and Contiki, which allows them to identify growth potential for a partner based on a brand that best fits their needs, allowing for growth through any of the brands. 


  

The preferred candidate must reside within the territory, specifically Maryland or Virginia. 


Requirements

 

TERRITORY MANAGEMENT

In-Person:
Manage the Mid-Atlantic territory (Maryland, Virginia, DC, Delaware, and West Virginia) by developing and executing a localized sales strategy and marketing plans with key accounts using a customized approach to address their specific needs, identified through consultative sales.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strengthen relationships and achieve growth with key accounts through regular contact and informative updates on productivity and progress; assist in achieving their goals.
  • Embrace and demonstrate the principles and practices of the Consultative Sales Process (CSP); progress through TTC’s CSP accreditation program.
  • Effectively use CSP to be the best-in-class sales team in the industry, where partners value our customer-focused, consultative approach. 
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage and maintain your sales territory.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities in Salesforce: trainings, appointments, tasks, customer feedback, and communications.
  • Use Salesforce reports to deliver valuable insights to advisors during calls, trainings, and email communications.
  • Provide robust training opportunities: client presentations, product sessions, sales trainings, webinars, and regular communication.
  • Escort familiarization trips for travel advisors when necessary.
  • Ensure effective use of marketing collateral and brand visibility (Trafalgar, Insight, Luxury Gold, Costsaver, Brendan Vacations & Contiki) within key agencies.
  • Manage brochure supply and regional distribution.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including Independent Travel Consultants (ITCs); build plans to establish Elite Partner Agreements (EPAs) with key agencies.
  • Evaluate ROI of trade and consumer shows/events; identify new event opportunities to support brand presence.
  • Stay informed on competitor activity and regional travel trends; report insights to management.
  • Submit detailed and timely sales reports as requested.
  • Actively generate and support group business from initial planning through post-departure follow-up.
  • Manage T&E budget, goodwill, and co-op marketing funds efficiently; submit invoices and Concur expense reports on time each month.
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of sales and customer service experience preferred
  • 3+ years of travel industry experience preferred
  • 3+ years of territory sales experience preferred
     
REQUIREMENTS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), webinar tools, and internet resources
  • Ability to adopt and learn new technologies and tools quickly
  • Proficient in Excel for managing and analyzing account data
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM is a bonus
  • Must reside in Maryland or Virginia
     
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends as required
  • Up to 60% overnight travel; some international travel required
  • Must have access to a suitable automobile with valid licenses and insurance for business travel
     
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to secure a corporate credit card in your name
  • If denied, must have a personal credit card with at least $5,000 available credit for business expenses
     
SALARY

$76,000 – $81,000 per year + sales incentives
