This National Bilingual Engagement Manager will be supporting the Chicago territory and must live within the territory.

The purpose of the National Bilingual Engagement Manager position is to execute industry leading medical device B2C sales through the application of complex sales techniques to drive territory strategy to achieve yearly sales revenue targets focused on the Spanish speaking population. The National Bilingual Engagement Manager I must be able to accomplish these goals while being fluent in both English and Spanish. The National Bilingual Engagement Manager position requires emotional intelligence, cultural knowledge of the Spanish audience, independent thinking with a comfortable level of sales and basic business acumen to sell Cochlear’s product portfolio in Spanish.  The National Bilingual Engagement Manager l will provide in person patient support in their assigned territories in addition to providing virtual support to Spanish speaking patients across the nation outside their assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate & Professional Partners: The National Bilingual Engagement Manager will be embedded in the territory sales strategies focused on awareness, growth, and patient support as the expert of Cochlear products to our Spanish speaking candidates and professional partners. The National Bilingual Engagement Manager I has demonstrated solutions to sell Cochlear’s product portfolio through the nurturing of Spanish speaking candidates and product launches.  This role implements local consumer marketing and candidate nurture strategies aimed at growing the market for Cochlear implantable technology focused on the Spanish speaking population.  Strategies include but are not limited to planning and execution of Spanish candidate growth events, developing strategic community relationships, as well as developing relationships with professional partners.  The National Bilingual Engagement Manager l will provide virtual support nationwide to Spanish speaking patients in territories that do not have a bilingual Spanish speaking Engagement Manager or Concierge.  This role will manage, develop and inspire Spanish speaking mentoring volunteers. This role is required to provide candidate communication through a variety of vehicles; in person, virtual, email and/or phone. This communication may include explaining how hearing works, types of hearing loss, technology options, device features and functions and Cochlear services that are available to the Spanish consumer to drive brand choice.  Report issues via the Cochlear complaint management system (Global issue form) and provide detailed description for B2B appropriate follow up and closure where appropriate. Individual must feel comfortable presenting to a professional audience of various specialties and provide further educational opportunities on the uniqueness of the Spanish culture and how that may influence their healthcare decisions.

Sales Acumen: Demonstrate sales and business acumen with the ability to identify market opportunities, competitive positioning, knowledge of customer needs and generate sales and secure orders specific to the Spanish speaking population. The National Bilingual Engagement Manager l will achieve the target unit quota by establishing strong relationships with key people in the assigned territory geography, with the focus on the Spanish speaking population (candidates, audiologists, surgeons, scheduling coordinators and volunteers). In addition, individual will provide a streamlined patient experience in territories that do not have a bilingual consumer sales team member.  Ensure that all sales activities are conducted in a manner that is fully compliant with Cochlear policy, laws and regulations.  Maintains accurate documentation of all sales activities and customer interactions in compliance with Cochlear’s policies to ensure leadership sales reporting and provide a seamless customer experience.  Collaborates with B2B teammates to educate on products to develop strong relationships with schools, Deaf/Hard of Hearing schools/programs and non-programming audiologists that support Spanish speaking individuals and families. Executes sales and marketing initiatives, delivering the associated marketing messages so that the impact on the customer is successful and positive enhancing their overall patient experience. The National Bilingual Engagement Manager I, coordinates and provides Spanish candidate educational events, evaluation days and awareness events related to Cochlear devices. Collaborates with B2B and CPNTM to support growth initiatives in the territory. Individual must exhibit excellent communication and adaptability with regional teams nationwide. They will act as an extension of their local B2C team and work closely to strategically market and promote bilingual services. Provides market intelligence related to the Spanish speaking population and competitive information that can be utilized in developing effective ways to approach current and potential customers. Maintains a professional image when representing Cochlear Americas.

Business Acumen: Manages territory expenses to budget. Allocates appropriate company resources and planning to achieve territory sales success with the focus of supporting Spanish speaking patients. Assists with developing and implementing quarterly strategic plans to achieve objectives. Submits territory information in a timely manner for program development and sales objectives. Consistently uses all sales tools including but not limited to Salesforce, Miller Heiman purple sheets, Communication Pathway, ScheduleOnce, SPIN and Showpad in the management of the consumer sales territory.

As a National Bilingual Engagement Manager, the role is to ensure that patients, within and outside the assigned territories can communicate in Spanish or English, so they can have a seamless candidate journey. This role will require to have a broad knowledge of Spanish support services offered throughout the entire patient journey to educate customers (patients and professionals) on Cochlear's comprehensive cultural approach.  This role is accountable for communicating patient information to patient, payer, professional, provider.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Depending on territory coverage requirements, must also have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Must possess work rights in the United States to be considered.

  • Pay Range in the United States: $70,000 - $80,000 based upon experience, as well as a commission opportunity. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
