Agora is an early-stage Fintech startup based in TLV, on a mission to revolutionize the way Real Estate firms and investors manage their capital. Our Investment Management software helps companies raise and preserve more capital by automating their back-office operations, increasing their investors' satisfaction, and providing them with advanced tools for better marketing efforts.

About the Role

Agora is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our new Backend Infra team. This team will be responsible for the infrastructural aspects of our product, as well as the development and maintenance of internal services and libraries used by our R&D squads. This team will serve as a force multiplier, allowing our squads to focus on their business domains while the Backend Infra team handles the infrastructure-heavy tasks.

Your role will be to form this new team, hire the right engineers to execute this vision, and lead the development of these critical features and services. From inception to architectural decisions and all the way to production, you will be responsible for driving these initiatives.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can set the standards, guidelines, and best practices for backend development across the organization. You will lay the foundation for how we write backend code and work on improving our development processes by integrating new AI tools and streamlining our workflows.

  • Lead a team of BE and fullstack engineers.
  • Oversee the whole development cycle of high-quality industry-leading products that have a direct impact on the company goals.
  • Work closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements, set priorities, and establish project timelines.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and across other departments.
  • Monitor and improve team performance, productivity, and overall efficiency.
  • Mentor your team members on a technical and personal level, helping them grow and develop their careers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation, learning, and personal growth.
  • Establish and maintain backend development standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
  • Drive the integration of new AI tools and technologies to improve our development processes and increase overall development velocity.
  • Play a key role in our Backend Guild, setting the direction and ensuring consistent practices are followed across the R&D teams.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Full Stack or Backend Software Engineer - web-oriented.
  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in leading software development teams.
  • Strong technical background and professional experience in backend development. Experience with Node.js and TypeScript is a must.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Passion for creating new products, understanding client needs and thriving for impact.
  • Fluent English speaker (verbal and written communication is a must)
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, or military equivalent certifications
