About the Role
Tempo Software is seeking a Senior UX Researcher that drives user-centered decision-making by designing, conducting, and synthesizing user research studies to inform product and design strategies. They lead research initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally to identify user needs, behaviors, and pain points. By leveraging qualitative and quantitative methods, they provide actionable insights that guide the creation of intuitive, impactful user experiences. The role requires expertise in research methodologies, strong analytical and communication skills.
What you’ll do-
Lead Diverse Research: Plan and execute a wide range of mixed-methods user-centered research, including generative interviews, concept testing, evaluative studies, and both moderated and unmoderated usability testing across 8-10 products. You'll understand the balance between agility and rigor.
Drive Strategic Impact: Collaborate closely with UX and Product teams to design studies and integrate research into the product development lifecycle, bridging communication between architecture (feasibility), business values (viability), and user desirability.
Establish Research Foundations: Support the development and documentation of 5+ standardized UX research frameworks and templates, and establish and refine a participant recruitment process to build a diverse user database
UXR Operations: Support the creation of a UXR playbook for project scoping, execution, and reporting.
Communicate & Influence: Consolidate, document, and present research findings from multiple sources in concise, actionable, and compelling stories.
Measure & Track Impact: Incorporate user metrics and business KPIs into your research approach, supporting the establishment of a framework to track and report UX research impact, such as defining 5+ key metrics (e.g., usability scores, NPS changes).
Champion Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and tools in user research and UX, vocalizing observed improvements to existing products and overall design processes. You'll also build trusting relationships with partners and team members.
Who you are-
Experience: 5+ years of UX research experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in various methods including usability testing, customer interviews, focus groups and more.
Design Systems Knowledge: Proven experience creating, managing, or contributing to a design system and component libraries in a large-scale software environment.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with making and elevating prototypes for user testing.
Research Program Track Record: Strong track record of leading strategic research initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes and actionable product recommendations.
Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical skills and ability to break down complex problems into data helps team members make better decisions for the customer. Ability to dive deep into web analytics data with tools like Full Story or Amplitude to identify user issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present and talk to customers, as well as discuss findings with product and UX leadership.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adjust to shifting priorities and business needs.
Cross Product Integration: Experience juggling multiple research efforts at different stages across multiple product lines.
