Job description

Role: SAP Developer
Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 6 months+
Work Hours: India Standard Time (IST) [some overlap 8a-10a CST preferred]
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can from from anywhere in India)

This individual will play a crucial role in an SAP S/4 Hana implementation, focusing on development, integration and ensuring adherence to SAP best practices.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement custom SAP solutions leveraging ABAP, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and SAP Integration Suite to meet business requirements during the migration from QAD to SAP S/4HANA.
Utilize extensive experience with RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows) to build and modify SAP functionalities.
Develop and maintain various interfaces using IDOCs, BAPIs, OData, and SOAP services to ensure seamless data exchange between SAP and other systems.
Apply in-depth knowledge of core ABAP concepts, including user exits, BADIs, and Function Modules, to extend standard SAP functionality.
Design and develop cloud-native applications using SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) model as needed within the BTP environment.
Design, develop, and customize both standard and custom SAP Fiori applications to provide user-friendly interfaces for business processes.
Ensure Fiori applications are responsive, performant, and aligned with SAP UI5 best practices.
Design, develop, and implement SAP workflows to automate business processes and improve efficiency.
Utilize SAP Build Process Automation to design, build, and deploy automation solutions, integrating with other SAP and non-SAP systems.
Understand business requirements thoroughly and translate them into clear and concise technical specifications.
Conduct thorough peer reviews of existing developments to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and optimal performance.
Identify areas for code optimization to improve system performance and prevent potential failures.
Actively promote and enforce the SAP Clean Core concept throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring customizations are non-disruptive and maintain system stability.
Plan, execute, and document comprehensive SAP testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing, to ensure the quality and stability of developed solutions.
Create detailed technical documentation, including test scripts, test scenarios, and development specifications.
Collaborate effectively with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and other technical team members, both onshore and offshore.
Maintain clear and proactive communication regarding project status, technical challenges, and potential risks.

Requirements:

7+ years of SAP development and integration (ABAP, BTP, Integration Suite) experience with RICEFW's
5+ years' experience designing, developing, customizing standard and custom Fiori apps
5+ years' experience designing, developing workflows
2+ years' experience designing and developing using SAP Build Process Automation
In depth knowledge of core ABAP (users exits, BADI's, Function Modules) and cloud application programming (CAP)
In depth knowledge of interfaces (IDOCs, BAPI's, ODATA, SOAP services)
Excellent ability to understand business requirement and translate it into technical requirements
Excellent skills in peer reviewing existing developments and optimizing code to improve performance and avoid failures
Very well versed with SAP Clean Core concept and can enforce it
SAP S/4 HANA experience is required
OpenText experience is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent SAP testing (unit, integration, regression) and documentation (test scripts, test scenarios) experience
