Job description

Job Position: Factory Manager – IC

Business Context and Main Purpose of the job

Accountable for managing plant operations to provide products that meet safety, quality, cost, wastage and services criteria. Lead the design of factory vision/ strategy, masterplan etc.

The factory manager has overall responsibility for all production and internal operations in the factory. S/he will be the main contact for both internal and external key stakeholders (incl. local government / Administrative agencies). S/he is responsible for delivering production commitments within the quality specifications and cost standards determined. The factory manager is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment. S/he will strive toward continuous improvement in production based on the company’s manufacturing excellence guidelines and UMS methodology (Unilever Manufacturing System).

The factory manager leads with the category management team the long-term master resource planning in support of future growth plans for site/ factory/ brands. S/he works closely with engineering team to ensure having sufficient capacities in the factory to fulfil factory commitments and proper customer service. She also works closely with the planning, quality, SHE, HR, digital, utility and finance team to ensure a robust management system.

Main Accountabilities

  • Own operational KPIs for the site including safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.
  • Manage all conversation operations through processing and packing to hand-over for dispatch, in order to deliver production against committed production plan.
  • Manage site leadership team to deliver daily excellence and develop future supply chain leaders in Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • Accelerate World Class Manufacturing (continuous improvement) methodology and culture as the way to deliver sustainable results and improve performance.
  • Drive digital transformation, including automation, to improve site efficiency and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support implementation of innovation plans within the factory and deliver to agreed ram up plans.
  • Achieve annual committed manufacturing excellence savings.
  • Achieve OP targets for Volume, OEE, OR, and cost.
  • Review and approve facility plans and audits to address ongoing needs of operation, compliance with governing rules, regulations and leasehold requirements and ensure minimized exposure to environmental risk and hazards.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a Supply Chain role (Manufacturing, Technology, EHS, Quality).
  • Minimum 3 years working in a role leading an entire factory, preferably at the Manager level.
  • Experience in Foods or Beverage industry is strongly preferred.
