For our client, a leading international company specialising in future-oriented energy technologies and bundling expertise in the fields of wind energy, gas, power grids and electrification, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager - High Voltage Substations (m/w/d).

Job Description

Acting as the local interface and coordinator for a strategic pilot project in Germany, you will represent our engineering capabilities in high and very high voltage substations (HVAC/HVDC/FACTS) for a major energy client. You will bridge the communication between the client and the engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery of technical work packages.

Serve as the main point of contact with the German client for all project-related topics
Lead and coordinate engineering efforts related to substation design (HVAC, HVDC, FACTS)
Ensure proper understanding and translation of client requirements to internal teams
Support the preparation of technical proposals and work package (WP) breakdowns
Monitor deliverables, quality, deadlines, and participate in clarification meetings
Facilitate multinational team coordination, including front/back office dynamics
Contribute to project reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning
Ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering
10+ years experience in electrical infrastructure projects
Experience in project management or WP delivery for large-scale industrial or energy projects
Proven experience in high voltage / very high voltage substations (design & execution)
Familiarity with HVAC, HVDC systems, and FACTS technologies
Knowledge of VSC technologies, EMT studies, and grid integration of renewables is a strong asset
Understanding of electrical protection schemes, SCADA systems, and IEC standards
Fluency in German and English (French is a plus).
Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills
Ability to work with multicultural and remote teams

Additional Information

You will be based in Germany and act as the German-speaking interface (front office).
Engineering work will be conducted by back office team.
You may start as a freelancer for this role
