Job Description

This senior-management position is responsible for maximizing profit by achieving sales revenue targets and growing market share within a specified territory, business line, etc.  The role involves leading and managing individual contributors to drive business success, develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, and support the expansion of Clario’s business.  The Executive Director will work closely with internal teams to enhance product offerings, optimize sales strategies, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Execution and Revenue Growth:

  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales programs to drive new sales and grow market share.
  • Support and foster key account relationships in coordination with the team and with specialist counterparts.
  • Actively manage business development across the group, ensuring strong pipeline management and forecasting accuracy.
  • Participate in sales, product management, and strategic initiative meetings to support business growth.
  • Work closely with Product Management to support the development of new offerings that meet market needs.
  • Negotiate and contract new business, ensuring optimal outcomes for Clario and its customers.
  • Interact with internal teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to enhance customer experience and sales effectiveness.
  • Manage and document sales activities and client interactions using Salesforce.com.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sales efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Complete timely and accurate administrative deliverables such as sales reports, expense reports, account planning

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS NEEDED:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree level or similar, or appropriate experience

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a sales position within the pharmaceutical, health, life science or other related regulated industry
  • Experience selling capital equipment and services, pharmaceutical and biotech products, technology and related services or similar
  • Experience with long sales cycles requiring a strong close and signed contract process, including multi-party sales scenarios
  • Proven capability to positively influence high value customers resulting in desired business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key thought leaders and high value customers across a variety of settings (e.g., large group practices, institutions)

Professional

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Effective on the telephone and a specialist in cold calling
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels, especially medical professionals including MDs and PhDs
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to cultivate, understand and anticipate the needs of the customer and to provide effective solutions and recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize and work on own initiative
  • Comprehensive knowledge of eResearch Technology products and services
  • Understanding the eResearch Technology corporate and financial objective
