The Field Service Leader is responsible for achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) and partnering with Radiometer Mexico (RMEX) senior leadership to execute operational strategies. This role leads and develops a team of field service engineers while fostering a culture of inclusion, motivation, and accountability.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Field Service Leader supports the installed base by performing hands-on engineering tasks, including instrument repair, maintenance, calibration, cleaning, and timely troubleshooting.

This position reports to the Service and Clinical Applications Manager and is part of the Service Department located in Mexico City and will be working remotely to cover Mexico and occasionally Latin America.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and support a high-performing Field Service Engineering team by managing daily operations, balancing workloads, and driving service metrics. Conduct interviews and assess the technical competencies of new candidates in order to make hiring decisions. Oversee performance management by providing timely and accurate coaching and feedback, implement structured mentorship and training programs for new hires, and promote continuous development and upskilling across the team. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Technical Support & Interdepartmental Communication Act as technical support for Field Service Engineers, providing real-time troubleshooting support and guidance. Serve as the key liaison between field teams and office staff, ensuring timely and effective communication of updates, risks, and procedural changes. Maintain oversight of field inventory, tools, and service records, and ensure all work meets regulatory and quality standards. Collaborate with Sales and other departments to align on customer needs, identify service revenue opportunities, and support joint initiatives.
  • Hands-On Engineering & On-Call Responsibilities: Perform complex engineering tasks including installation, calibration, repair, and preventative maintenance of instruments, modeling best practices for the team. Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, responding to urgent service needs including nights and weekends, especially for VIP accounts. Document service activities, manage customer interactions, and ensure timely resolution of issues. Promote customer satisfaction through training, follow-up visits, and proactive consultation on service, IT, and cybersecurity needs.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and industry specific applications.
  • University degree in Engineering or other technical careers, such as Biomedical, Electronics, and Mechanics.
  • Five or more years of proven leadership experience as a Field Service Manager, Coordinator, or Team Lead, with a strong emphasis on effective communication, safety compliance, and operational excellence. Recognized for consistent reliability, punctuality, productivity, and a customer-centric approach.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • 30% travel through Mexico and Latin America with visits to headquarters and other Radiometer subsidiaries.
  • Must be able to have flexible working hours.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • The ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 20kg, with assistance from others.

El Líder de Servicio en Campo es responsable de alcanzar los indicadores clave de desempeño (KPIs) y colaborar con la alta dirección de Radiometer México (RMEX) para ejecutar estrategias operativas. Este rol lidera y desarrolla un equipo de ingenieros de servicio en campo, fomentando una cultura de inclusión, motivación y responsabilidad.

Además de las responsabilidades de liderazgo, el Líder de Servicio en Campo apoya la base instalada realizando tareas de ingeniería práctica, incluyendo reparación, mantenimiento, calibración, limpieza y solución de problemas de instrumentos.

Este puesto reporta al Gerente de Servicio y Aplicaciones Clínicas y forma parte del Departamento de Servicio ubicado en Ciudad de México. Es un rol remoto que cubrirá México y ocasionalmente América Latina.

En este rol tendrás la oportunidad de:
  • Liderazgo y Desarrollo del Equipo: Liderar y apoyar a un equipo de ingeniería de servicio en campo de alto rendimiento. Gestionar operaciones diarias, equilibrar cargas de trabajo y mejorar métricas de servicio. Realizar entrevistas y evaluar competencias técnicas de candidatos. Supervisar la gestión del desempeño, mentoría y programas de capacitación. Asegurar el cumplimiento de políticas, normas de seguridad y requisitos de documentación.
  • Soporte Técnico y Comunicación Interdepartamental: Brindar soporte técnico en tiempo real a los ingenieros de servicio en campo. Actuar como enlace entre los equipos de campo y el personal de oficina. Supervisar inventario, herramientas y registros de servicio. Colaborar con Ventas y otros departamentos para alinear necesidades del cliente.
  • Ingeniería Práctica y Responsabilidades de Guardia: Realizar tareas complejas de ingeniería (instalación, calibración, reparación). Participar en rotaciones de guardia, incluyendo noches y fines de semana. Documentar actividades de servicio y asegurar resolución oportuna de problemas. Promover la satisfacción del cliente mediante capacitación y consultas proactivas.

Requisitos esenciales:
  • Bilingüe en inglés y español.
  • Sólidas habilidades informáticas (Microsoft Office y aplicaciones del sector).
  • Título universitario en Ingeniería o carreras técnicas afines.
  • Más de 5 años de experiencia en liderazgo en roles de servicio en campo.
  • Enfoque en comunicación efectiva, cumplimiento de seguridad y orientación al cliente.

Requisitos de viaje, conducción y físicos:
  • 30% de viajes por México y América Latina.
  • Horarios de trabajo flexibles.
  • Licencia de conducir válida y récord aceptable.
  • Capacidad para levantar o mover equipos de hasta 20 kg (con ayuda).

Será una ventaja si también cuentas con experiencia en:
  • Liderar equipos en el campo de dispositivos médicos.
