What You'll Do

Grasshopper Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Portfolio Associate to join our Credit team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on the performance of our commercial loan portfolios, providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making and risk management. You will work closely with various stakeholders across the bank to develop and maintain robust analytical frameworks and reporting tools. Title will be determined based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive portfolio performance reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze portfolio trends, identify key drivers of performance, and provide actionable insights on risk, profitability, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor key portfolio metrics, including asset quality, delinquency rates, and concentration risks.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to address specific business questions and support strategic initiatives.
  • Optimize loan tracking software and reporting.
  • Integrate AI technology to the portfolio monitoring team.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and IT teams to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for analytical purposes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of portfolio segmentation strategies and risk scoring models.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports and internal audit requests related to portfolio performance.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in portfolio analytics.
  • Document analytical methodologies, processes, and findings clearly and concisely.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, portfolio analytics, or risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of banking products (loans, deposits) and related financial concepts.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with nCino preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
