We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer with a strong foundation in data engineering to lead the development of scalable, cloud-native data and API solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in designing backend systems, building modern ETL pipelines, and integrating cloud-based data platforms like Snowflake.

You will play a critical role in shaping our data infrastructure, collaborating across teams, and mentoring junior engineers while remaining hands-on in development and delivery

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on Python for API development and data processing.
• Proven experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on with DBT for data transformation and modeling.
• Experience with data ingestion tools such as Airbyte, Fivetran, or custom connectors.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured and semi-structured data.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Architect and develop scalable Python-based APIs and backend services that interface with internal and external data sources.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex ETL/ELT pipelines using Airbyte, DBT, and custom Python solutions.
• Lead the development and optimization of data workflows on AWS Cloud services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, MSK, ECS, Auto scaling etc.
• Manage data integrations, transformations, and delivery into Snowflake, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. (Data ingestion in snowflake like snowpipe, snowpipe streaming etc)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality and platform resilience through unit testing, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Act as a technical mentor to junior team members, promoting engineering best practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection for our evolving data platform.

Bonus points if you...

• Experience with data governance, lineage, and observability frameworks.
• Familiarity with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
• Knowledge of container orchestration (e.g., ECS, EKS, Docker).
• Background in mentoring or team leadership roles.
