Job Description

The Demand Planner plays a pivotal role in optimising supply chain operations for Montu. This multifaceted role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, coordinating demand planning cycles, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and ensuring the efficient production and delivery of products. The role is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, forecasting demand, meeting demand requirements to mitigate stock depletion. 

Key Responsibilities:

Demand Planning:

  • Use Netstock to coordinate monthly demand planning cycles, and collaborate with the marketing and category team to understand promotional plans and calendars as part of the planning process. 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive demand planning strategies including supply-feedback to accurately forecast customer demand and optimise inventory levels.
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to future demand fluctuations across product lines including bulk and finished goods.
  • Manage accurate allocation of stock and forecasting demands across multiple warehouses, reducing inbound transportation complexity.
  • Ensure that potential out-of-stocks are considered and addressed in the demand planning process.
  • Maintain communication with key cross functional stakeholders.

  • Use Netstock as a reporting tool to feedback to the business on demand forecasts, and to identify potential risks to feed back to key stakeholders for action.  

S&OP Planning: 

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to understand promotional plans and calendars  as part of demand forecast planning. 
  • Provide input on volume-related forecasts and analysis to support marketing and sales strategies.
  • Contribute to the planning and forecasting processes to identify and address stock gaps, including long-term purchase orders and on-the-spot orders from various suppliers.
  • Ensure that replenishment planning strategies are aligned with demand forecasts.

Drive Efficiencies:

  • Partner with warehouse operations, pharmacy operations and  procurement teams to identify opportunities to increase efficiency through demand planning and allocation strategies with the ultimate goal of driving pharmacy satisfaction, reduced cost per order and out-of-stock rates
  • Ensure optimal stock levels across warehouses, pharmacies, and regions, minimising out-of-stock occurrences and unnecessary transfers.

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Deliver on individual and set departmental OKR and KPI’s as determined from time to time.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably with a background in demand planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Netstock is essential.
  • Relevant experience with high value inventory in a highly regulated environment.  
  • Highly developed planning and work organisation skills to manage competing priorities and respond to emerging needs.
  • Proficiency in demand planning, forecasting methodologies, inventory management practices, preferably in a FMCG/medical/pharmaceutical space.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence cross functionally, in a fast paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
  • Confident using, creating and working with multiple systems for reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and work cross-functionally with strong commercial acumen.
  • Problem Solving - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  • Resilience - Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with good time management skills.
